I saw on the news this morning that local fish sellers were calling on the government to intervene in the drastic price increase, they were complaining about their inability to make a profit or even stay in business at all. The situation in the country for some time has been really draining, the high increase in the price of things has made it almost impossible for business owners to make a profit, and even salary earners almost have nothing to save anymore.

I was speaking to a friend recently, complaining about how almost everything I have been making lately has been going into feeding. Not as though, I am feeding comfortably well, but as much as I am trying to manage, the high price of things is making it very difficult to even properly feed, and talk more of eating exuberantly.
For a lot of young minds, leaving the country has been what so many people look forward to. JAPA (escaping from the country), has become a widely used word, as people look for different opportunities to find their way out of the country as soon as they can. But, that has also become very difficult as the exchange rate has made it excessively expensive to leave the country at the moment.
So, the current reality of things is getting stuck in a country where nothing seems to be moving, where dreams die on a daily basis. Even if you are earning in foreign currencies, affording life's basic needs is becoming very difficult. But, I think things are a little better for people who are earning in foreign currencies than those who are earning in Naira currently (but am I correct)?

The escape from this situation appears to be getting worse by the day but I am not sure how it will happen. Some of us rightly suspected that the incoming of this current administration would bring pain to the country, but based on unnecessary sentiments about religion and tribe, people who were aware of this impending doom still decided to vote for the current administration.
Should we even talk about how totally unfair the election process was, it was a clear case of bad politics played there. When the other presidential contenders tried to contend the result of the election, they were asked to go to court, and of course, what happened next was very clear to all.
From the very day the current administration was sworn in, the country has consistently experienced intense pain and discomfort, of course with the top politicians enjoying the distributed benefits that come with their position. The way forward is what I am not even sure about, but personally, I am sure things will get better.
