Micheal Sonnenshein, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grayscale is resigning from the company. In 2014, Micheal joined Grayscale's team, and in 2021; he was given the position of CEO. Peter Mintzberg, will be taking over Micheal's position as CEO of Grayscale on the 15th of August 2024.
Grayscale has mentioned that Micheal Sonnenshein was resigning, in order to follow his other interests in life. Mintzberg, will formally join the board of directors at Grayscale, and be made CEO of the investment company.
Silbert, CEO of Digital Currency Group stated via X (formerly called Twitter) that Grayscale was planning for a higher stage in their expansion. Sibert gave appreciations to Sonnenshein, and went further to mention that Sonnenshein supported Grayscale through significant expansion, and played an important role in introducing spot Bitcoin ETFs; creating opportunities for a wider financial sector.
Before the position as CEO of Grayscale, Peter Mintzberg was the global head of strategy for asset and wealth management at Goldman Sachs. Mintzberg had worked in other notable companies, such as: Invesco, BlackRock and OppenheimerFunds.
