Following a Bloomberg report, FalconX co-founder and CEO Raghu Yarlagadda confirmed the development in a January 2 X post.Although the terms of the transaction were not released, a prior report from Bloomberg on December 31, naming persons familiar with the issue, indicated that the acquisition would likely be paid using a mix of FalconX shares and cash.According to Yarlagadda, FalconX is now better positioned to produce greater value for its institutional clients by merging Arbelos' trading platform with FalconX's balance sheet and "regulatory readiness."

Stuart Hoegner, the general counsel of Tether and Bitfinex, has departed from his position as legal head at the two companies, and he will be replaced by Michael Hilliard, who has worked with Hoegner for some years.Tether said on January 2 that Hoegner had retired and that the company's current legal counsel will take over as general counsel.The company said in a statement: "Michael's deep understanding of both companies' operations, coupled with his strategic approach to legal and regulatory challenges, has been critical to advancing both Tether and Bitfinex's mission."
