Economic policies that end up affecting the entire country

Hello friends of Project HOPE, today I want to share with you information about something that is happening right now in Colombia, and that if it persists, could imply serious complications for the entire country, since it would have a direct impact on the citizens' pockets.

In general, in Latin America, there are many countries that usually subsidize part of the fuel they use, especially cargo transportation and the agricultural sector, with the intention of keeping prices low for the population. Obviously, this means a large expense. for the state, but it is something that has been operating that way for decades. The details are that precisely Diesel fuel, the one used by heavy-duty transport, has recently been increased by almost 15%, which is a strong blow for transporters and that in the end, citizens will end up paying.

In view of this situation, the transporters began a massive demonstration in the form of a strike throughout the country, but especially in the main cities of Colombia, starting, as expected, in the capital city, Bogotá, which is where I live. . However, news of transportation strikes can be seen in many parts of the country, which is directly interfering with the normal development of other work activities.

The government's measure is given because it has a large fiscal deficit, despite the fact that lately the measures of the DIAN (the body in charge of collecting taxes and customs in the country) to increase tax collection have increased , to the point that the director of the DIAN is popularly called Mr. Taxes.

The problem here is that it is something that started last week, and in some places the effects of the strike are already beginning to be felt, for example, in cities that border other countries, like Ecuador, where they are very dependent on those who arrive. of the center of the country for its normal social development, hoarding and price increases have already begun, due to the possibility that this transport strike could be prolonged and that the products would begin to take a long time to arrive.

While it is true that, in the capital, it is difficult for basic products to become scarce given that the main storage centers are here, it is also a reality that much of the raw material comes from external cities, which means that The transportation strike will eventually affect the entire production and distribution chain, which in the end will end up affecting prices also here in Bogotá, and actually, throughout the country.

This is an example that politics matters, and that those people who focus on saying that they only work and are not interested in politics are quite wrong, because whether you care or not, your pockets will end up making the decisions you make. the politicians take over, and then it will start to become important, I say goodbye, greetings.

Recently project.hope sent me 1000 Steem erroneously to my Wallet, which I returned immediately, for this reason the accounts for club5050 do not add up, but I am in club, since I was obviously not going to make a Power Up of 500 Steem to have to pay them by taking them from somewhere else.

I think most of the time, the government are not really concerned about the economic situation of the people

Politicians are interested in staying in power, but I have no interest in anything more than that.
