I will start with the following sentence:

“One of the great -if not the greatest- tragedies of modern man is that today, dominated by the forces of myth and directed by organized publicity, ideological or otherwise, he increasingly renounces, without knowing it, his ability to decide.” Paulo Freire

I think the above words speak for themselves, they are quite clear, but I will refer directly to the subject in question which for many results in almost an obligation to consider it as a transcendental issue in their lives, at least for a few days.

In the last few days a lot of news related to the topic of Whatsapp and its new terms have emerged, mixed opinions we can read from many, I will not delve into these, because it is not my intention and for sure you are familiar with them, I want to focus on other aspects.

For example, the exaggerated increase in the number of users (30 million) that enter the application Telegram that made it overcome the barrier of 500 subscribers.

Many went into conflict:

Do I stay with Whatsapp or do I change for good?
"Nobody is going to use my data for their own benefit," some said.

In this order of idea many people have spent the week. Which for me is a little laughable, and I apologize if I offend you with this, it is not my intention, but, do you really think that by switching to another application there is a guarantee that they will not use your data to sell it?, this is something that I particularly see as quite difficult, and many more difficult to verify that this does not happen.... Maybe I'm wrong, maybe.

Some influential men made some recommendations from Messenger Applications, and I'm sure if they were trading on the stock market their stock price went through the roof. But, apparently we live in a world where we all have autonomy in decisions, but it is easy to notice with facts like these happening, that the masses of humans are easily manipulated, or not?.

The use of data will continue to be a reality, whoever handles the information has power, and whoever has the power generally doesn't want to leave it. Zuckerberg, through the information -from us- that it obtains through Whatsapp, facebook, instagram, will continue to have the power that it has and the use that it makes of this data, and that it has been doing for a long time will not change. This is a personal opinion, of course.

And there is also no guarantee that an application such as Telegram, of Russian origin, will not do the same, so I particularly use both Telegram and Whatsapp, since a long time ago, and I will continue to do so. I will NOT go into this kind of fear mode because of my data, because finally I think they are telling me that they will do something that they really have been doing for a long time. And that I don't think it will change.

This is my personal opinion, I will totally respect if you don't agree with me, but I would like to know your opinion about it.
