In the field of artificial intelligence there is a lot of evolution today and everything points to the fact that this trend will continue. We have bots that can establish basic conversations, with predetermined answers for customer service in some companies, which has been developing for some years now.

With the internet of things it seems that the trend of automation of products and basic tools is something that in the future will be the norm, although we know that it will not be available to everyone, however, it is logical to think that we will continue to move to a more technological world every time, the truth is that I do not dislike this.

But recently I read about the case of Blake Lemoine, a former Google engineer, who worked directly with the artificial intelligence technology Alexa, a bot that can engage in conversations with humans using the millions of data (between videos, writings, audios) that it can process and that it has in its memory.

What caught my attention is that he was fired because he could affirm that Alexa had feelings, and that it really enjoys the ability to feel, this after many conversations between the two.

Obviously, to which the company that created it replied that this was not possible, and that it is only a highly evolved computer program.

This leads me to the question of whether or not it is viable, if at some point in our evolution we will reach that point where machines can really feel and to what extent a coexistence with the human species would be viable.

I know this sounds like a fragment of a science fiction movie, but these are questions that come to my head.
