I JUST WOKE UP: A Response to Buhari's Imposed Curfew

According to my earlier article dated 26th March, 2020 on Panic , Politics and Indecision : The Biggest Fuel of COVID 19, I had stated among other things the non proactive, non strategic planning approach, Politics of non-involvement and self isolation techniques being adopted by the government will breed cataclysmic responses as time goes on.

This morning while monitoring the media activities, I had come across the prerecorded speech of president Buhari, locking down major States like Lagos, Abuja (FCT) and Ogun States respectively.

The article read in part that the federal government started planning this preventive, containment and curative measures in the event that the disease hits Nigeria.

I want to say as a public critic that this is the dumbest response I have had in years from a government the people feel have no interest in their collective development and growth.
No responsible government should approach issues of this nature like this. From the first discovery on January 27th, 2020, the almighty center did nothing by watching, allowing the pandemic to spread. Even when States took their destinies into their hands by locking down proximate borders and enforcing local curfews, they were watching.

When you discovered the virus was already in the families of the bourgeoisies, who most likely are your families and cronies, it now became done on you that you should close down some states where the most or worse suspected cases are speculated to be.

Permit me to ask some pertinent questions :
(1) Why does your speech have to be prerecorded?
(2) Does it justify the popular beliefs circulating around that since Abba Kyari your right-hand man has covid19, you too are most likely as against the negative of the test report conducted on you?
(3) Or does it justify your reasons lately for wanting to travel abroad for medical cheque up amidst a pandemic of this magnitude outside the shores of the country you Lord over.

Again i ask, do you have to depend on scientists from other countries to get a cure when other countries like the USA are trying to woo Nigerian doctors?

This is not to bounce out the possibility of a cure from outside our shores but a dire critic of our inability to see ourselves as capable of bringing solutions to world problems.

When I read this pre-recorded speech of yours, I began to ask myself who has done this to us. All the safest ways to fight this pandemic you listed are already known by Nigerians because most of them are keen listeners of foreign news. This is the tragedy of our collective existence as we live as a people today.

Thanks to God that we are enlightened as a people who are truly guided by the labyrinth of knowledge and information even though some gullible ones live among us.

I want to use this medium to appreciate all those who truly have done something positive to deal with COVID 19 in Nigeria and the world at large.

I pray that wherever you are, you will continually be guided and be a solution to your world.
