Will technology decentralise education system too?
In the present education system, till the formal schooling, we have to study what the top authorities have designed for us? But, will this system survive in this technological revolution?
Earlier, in the absence of technology, people had to rely entirely on this system to provide with the best and updated education. But today, with the help of the internet, learning is not dependent on some centralized authority rather individuals will decide what to study and what not to.
And, if this will be the case in future, the definition of a teacher will also change. Students will shift from the one who does talk the talk to someone who walk the talk. Teachers, for the most part, are considered a source of delivering static information, first learning from books and then sharing it with students.
But, nowadays, the changes are happening so fast that we can't rely just on the teacher who teaches the static information, we have to shift to someone who has the updated dynamic information. And the person who has the real updated knowledge is someone who is working on the subject and not just teaching the subject.
Moreover, most education system follows near to far approach, where students were first taught what is near to them and then move towards farther things. But, in this internet and technological world, the very difference between far and near has been dissolved. Today, students have global interests and not just limited to local or national boundaries. Which can be achieved only through the decentralized system.
