COVID-19 and Isolation

People are not just keeping subtle distances from each other in public. There are/have been quarantines. Some communities are not prepared to re-open schools. Religious practices are restricted in some areas. There are even calls to delay the 2020 U.S. election.

2020 Election, Fake News and Foreign Interests

Elections are about debates. News organizations are supposed to remain unbiased. Over time, biases have not only crept into media companies, but those who harbor them are in control. If that was not enough, we now see the same type of corporate espionage and military propaganda tactics being used in mainstream media. It's not surprising that foreign interests now play pivotal roles in elections. The most dangerous factor might be the role of social media.

Social Media Controlled Information

Social media companies have demonstrated the power of not just to fact check our officials but also to restrict access. This is expected in a self-proclaimed state run media like China. In America and Europe there may be an even greater threat. What if we are to discover that social media can substantially control how our government officials communicate with us?

Artificial Intelligence

The most impactful technology that the human race will ever create. This is how experts describe AI. Why? Because, when paired with robotics, human beings will be capable of shaping the world by merely communicating with an AI the way one would with another human being. AI will/are help(ing) build better robotics. 3-D printing and other technologies could potentially empower a single individual to build a home.. a tall building.. a city.

Cryptocurrencies and Pseudo-blockchains

Some of the advantages of cryptocurrencies are probably obvious to you. After all, you are here on Steemit reading this. While young, Steem and other cryptos are taking the first step of true ownership of digital assets and intellectual properties. We must use caution because several companies have already taken steps to create pseudo-blockcahins. I recently rote an article about this topic that you can read here

The Convergence

The convergence of crypto in a pandemic economy that's about to undergo a heated 2020 election amidst information controlled by social media goliaths all while AI emerges should send chills along anyone's spine.

Each of these factors are powerful alone. Many have an outright negative impact upon society at large. Taken together, and what can be gathered is a world that will soon not resemble what it once did.

How we live will change.

The adoption of true cryptos will be crucial. If simply because the problems individuals face will necessitate their personal input. Governments may become overwhelmed, but individuals will finally be heard.
