Greetings and welcome, dear readers, to another installment associated with science and the use of renewable resources to meet the energy demands of society in general.
In this sense, a group of researchers from the University of Rome in conjunction with the University Carlos III of Madrid, have developed a sophisticated mechanism that allows the reuse of organic waste from forestry, pre-treated by solar energy to facilitate the use of this and the waste biomass produced in forest areas.
The research is based on the use of energy stored in biological waste, which through the use of nuclear reactors, can become an energy source that meets the demands of society, in other words, what is sought is the use of waste material of animal, domestic and vegetable origin, whose biomass can be used in energy production.
The interesting thing about the project is that a material with no apparent utility is given a new use and is incorporated into a new system of productive gear, taking advantage of it and yields for the benefit of society and leaving aside the use of renewable resources. Among the fundamental characteristics of the materials, high humidity stands out, for which a previous thermal treatment is necessary, including pyrolysis, dry torrefaction and gasification, procedures that are carried out with a high level of energy, and it is here where solar energy plays a fundamental role in the project.

Methodologically, the waste is treated by HTC, a process that consists of passing the samples through thermal treatment that allows the biomass to be processed by using super-heated water, using high pressures between 10 to 40 bars. By means of this procedure, hydro-carbon is generated, a system of great aggregate value that allows the formation of carbon from organic matter, another of the most energy demanding systems of the project that is carried out by using solar energy.
Operationally, the researchers use a mechanical process to redirect the solar radiations, the same consists of redirecting the radiations through the use of reflecting mirrors, the first mirror redirects the radiation and the second concentrates and emits it to the sample where the energy is extracted from the pre-treated biomass.
It is undoubtedly a great inventiveness that allows to give a second use to waste, hence the importance of directing science to processes that do not threaten the welfare of the planet, but on the contrary that seeks to improve the pre-existing conditions.

Grateful with the community @project.hope and with all the management team of the same one that they motivate us to continue working in a mutual and balanced growth.

Hello @madridbg, certainly science has played a fundamental role in the generation of energy from solid waste, we know that there are countries that produce energy from solid waste, this makes more use of these resources.

Hello @madridbg
Every day new solutions to the world's energy problem come out, and not only that, but giving a utility to waste to produce energy from them is an ideal in terms of environmental care. I hope this can evolve and progress much more. Thank you for sharing important information.
