THE CORONAVIRUS FROM PHILOSOPHICAL PRINCIPLES

Greetings and welcome dear readers, the present installment refers to the approach of the pandemic issue with a philosophical vision that allows us to understand the issues that the Covid-19 has made us face from a duration lesson that produced the loss of countless lives.

In this sense, it is valid to ask ourselves, as a society, what has the pandemic taught us? A general questioning if you will, but the answers are associated with sensitive issues and that respond to classical philosophical principles, among which are:

1. Freedom, as basic principles of any citizen who has the right to make a free person and decide on how to live and approach their day to day, under this conception the Covid-19, forced us even radical confinements that somehow made a gradual break in freedom as a principle.

2. Death is one of the most sensitive issues we face with the arrival of the pandemic, generating irreparable family ruptures and generalizing a worldwide health crisis, in addition to driving a sustained fear in all citizens.

3. Education, as a process there was a radical adaptation from face-to-face subjects to a new approach to knowledge, where digital processes gained great importance and allowed to face the tough situation in knowledge issues.

4. Work, this is another aspect affected by the pandemic, where we have had to learn to generate income through digital platforms that have allowed us to alleviate the harsh situation established by covid-19.

5. Other factors that stand out are political and economic, where measures or strategies were generalized to curb an enemy that affects us from the microscopic.

Undoubtedly these are delicate scenarios for society in the collective, as well as in the individual person that put us in a scenario to evaluate the most important issues of our lives, as well as to evaluate the priorities in this. So the current pandemic has made us internalize as philosophers study the essential components of evolution.

From a personal point of view, the pandemic has allowed us to be in front of a real opportunity to learn to coexist and improve those family and work aspects, among others, that we have left unfinished due to the accelerated pace of life prior to this pandemic.

So under the harshness of Covid-19, it is up to us to learn and improve from the mistakes, where we can witness how great we can become, but at the same time how delicate and weak we are, we have focused on great technological, scientific and social advances, neglecting issues such as the environment and planetary care that has undoubtedly improved thanks to the confinement generated by the pandemic.

At this point, associating the pandemic with philosophy, part of the opinion of Saez, who states that this is a set of principles of critical claims about the most important aspects of human existence that drives us to question our way of thinking and seeing the world.

So we must seek a better life, but this will not happen unless we start now with concrete actions that allow us to generate better living conditions, through mutual efforts among the different members of an evolving society.
