Twitter fraudsters extort more than $100k worth of bitcoin from users.

A recent attack on Twitter's high profile users, mostly verified account were hacked on 15 July among these prominent account were the account of America ex-president Barack Obama, Elon musk and more highly recognize official in the world, in a term refered to as coordinated social engineering attack where these hackers got access to internal control tool of the social media by gaining access to users account.

Twitter are yet to give full detail on how these hackers managed to get control and access these accounts and will update it users as soon as all issues are resolved.
The hackers were able to post tweets using the accounts of major figures including Barack Obama and Joe Biden to promote a fake Bitcoin (BTC) giveaway which has so far swindled over 300 users out of $118,000.

These recent attack got lots of users to be skeptic about the transparency and security of these platform and don't feel secure, their privacy could be easily spied on and their account might also suffer such breach.

An interesting question every crypto users are asking is which social platform is most secure for users to use, as hackers are making more research everyday to see they extort more money from user are the decentralized network safe place for users to keep and store their money?

The most secure platforms are those based on blockchain, the 3.0 network, like the one we are using.

Thanks for the heads up, all platform including the blockchain technology are still vulnerable to hackers. More advance security system need to be updated daily to avoid such problem.
