Welcome to my Twelve Part Mini Course on finding your Target Audience.
This mini course was originally shared in a Facebook Group and was originally designed to help women who earn money with affiliate marketing programs target their perfect customer. It was designed to help women who were trying to sell “anything they could” to “anyone who would buy it.”
I have re-wired the course to fit Steem Blockchain and writers who will write “anything for anyone” who will give them an upvote and would like to instead have a more methodical approach to building a reading audience.
My goal for this mini course is two fold.
To help interested Steem Blockchain Writers solidify who their target audience is
To help me narrow down my focus for my Women and Crypto website.
This Mini Course is for you if:
- You sometimes don’t know what to write about.
- You write to everyone and anyone who will read your work
- You are looking to create an income that moves beyond what your post payouts pay
- If you are curious about whether niching down is the right step for you
- If you need help finding “the point” to your work.
- Are looking for a fellow writer who is ready to throw ideas around.
This Mini Course is NOT for you if:
- You want to write about everything and anything under the sun with no specific rhyme or reason
- You want to create a group of friends on the blockchain and share your personal life story with them, and don’t care if you have any readers beyond them
- Don’t care about growing beyond the blockchain
- Think that the blockchain is dead, limited, or finite
Those are all fine reasons for playing on the blockchain, I am happy to share the space for you. This Mini Course though, will have little to no use for you.
Please note that solidifying a writing theme and voice does NOT mean you are stuck to only one subject. It simply means that you are creating an audience who likes to read your opinion about a specific niche.
Our First Assignment:
What business do you have on the blockchain?
I love the community.
You love the community.
The community loves the community.
And we are all happy the community exists.
But what is your business here?
Are you here for the free storage? As long as there is one node running, the blockchain will stay alive and you will have your work stored for "free"
Are you here selling something? Goods and services are not the only things that get sold. You also sell ideas, and points of view.
Are you here because you feel all social media usage should be tokenized?
Are you here as an investor? Clubs like @spinvest help you grow your investment without having to write. You can also earn by curating*
What is your business here?
Describe it to me.
If you choose to participate by commenting, I will surely read, respond, and guide as needed or requested. If you participate by writing a post, please share with me in a comment so that I can visit and see your response.
If you play along but in a journal, or just by thinking out loud, please feel free to give me feedback in writing by emailing me [email protected].

Dear @metzli
Another interesting choice of topic. Solid read.
This douns't sound like well targetted audience :)
Anyway, I found this post a bit confusing. You've mentioned about targetting audience, then you've mentioned @spinvest and also your own womenandcrypto.org project.
By the time I came to this part "What is your business here? Describe it to me." - I already wasn't sure what this post is about :P
ps. I've been trying to reach you via Discord but I still cannot find you. Did you already join our server? https://discord.gg/uWMJTaW
Enjoy your weekend,
Yours, Piotr

Hello @metzli
I hope this project, which sounds great, it’s the reason for your absence from Steemit. I pray all is well with you and you are mentally and physically well.
