Hello friends,
I am doing good, and I hope that you are having a good time with your near and dear ones.
I spent a lot of money on fuel expenses because it is like an everyday expense that I do on my car. Iron my car on CNG which is the alternate fuel and it is cheaper than petrol. It's good for the environment because the emission is very low but there are some good and bad things about this type of fuel. Most of the cabs are running on CNG fuel because this is cost cost-effective option for them and it also does not contribute to pollution.
Air pollution is the biggest problem in the capital city these days. From next week onwards the government will have ordered an even programme in the city and NCR region. It means any car having an odd number will be able to run on odd days and similarly for even numbers. They have not provided any clarity if CNG vehicles will be exempted from this.
I think there should not be any restrictions on CNG vehicles else it will be difficult for the cab drivers to run. If this restriction is put on cab drivers then it will be a loss-making situation for me and many of my friends. Now coming back to the topic which is fuel expense. There have been multiple instances when the fuel price was increased. The price of 1KG cng is almost like $1 which is considered expensive.
Once I fill up my cylinder which generally gets filled in for 7 to 8KG cng. It gives me a mileage of around 25 kilometers per kg so approximately two hundred kilometers I can run with one filled cylinder. The cost of one cylinder is more than 600 Indian rupees and this is a good amount. In most of the cases, I need to fill up my car cylinder every day.
The government is also encouraging people to go for the electric vehicle but this is very expensive. The cost of an electric vehicle is almost double what we pay for a petrol or CNG-operated car. Although the car running cast is very low on electric vehicles the initial cost is too high and this is what the government needs to work on. Electric cars can be the future but the price should be reasonable so that any middle-class customer can also purchase them. Even if I want then I cannot do it because my pocket will not allow it and it's fine if I make less money with this car which is cng CG-operated. I at least have an option to run my car and generate income every day.
The government also shares that once electric cars are more on the road the demand for CNG will go down and that will also lead to a price drop. I don't know when is it going to happen but I think the government should bring the price down for CNG fuel. In some states, the price for CNG and petrol is almost the same and the only difference is the mileage that we get more with CNG. If that difference is not much then it is not worth keeping a vehicle running on CNG because there is some additional costing for the CNG kit on the car.
There are some other expenses that are applicable in case of cab and after all these a major chunk from the income goes to all these expenses. I don't know if there will be better situation about such expenses but the govt should definitely look in to this.
