fuel prices Rising

I am doing good, and I hope that you are having a good time with your near and dear ones.

I drive a car that runs through CNG and this is better for the planet. In India, we have vehicles with different fuels like- Petrol, diesel CNG, and now battery-operated vehicles and this is still in the early stages. Any vehicle that can run on CNG is anyways compatible with petrol so if there is no ability of CNG then we have the option to get petrol. The government has done good work in the last few years to make the easy availability of CNG gas. I don't know how it is in outer areas or tier three cities but at least in metro and tier two cities, we can get the CNG easily in a few kilometers.

It is easily available in Delhi and you just need to drive about three to four kilometers and you will be able to find at least one fuel station for a gas refill. CNG is cost-effective because it is cheaper than petrol and diesel and it is also good for the planet. Diesel is not at all good for the planet as compared to petrol and this is why the government is getting strict with diesel vehicles. I prefer to drive my car on C and G as much as possible even if I travel outside the city because I can save money on fuel as compared to petrol. I choose to drive on patrol only if the C N G is not available and there are applications that we can use to find the location of the nearest CNG refuel station.

The government has increased prices for CNG fuel a lot in the last one and a half years and it has gone almost double the price it was two years back. This has affected many people who are dependent upon the commercial vehicles because the fares are not increased but the cost is increased drastically. I ran a commercial car which is also known as taxi so if I pay more for the cost and earn less then it is affecting my income. Now because the price of fuel has increased it has affected my earning and even the companies I drive far has increased their operating cost which is now 25 to 30%.

It is not just CNG but also the prices are increased for petrol and diesel so no matter what type of car you drive or any vehicle that you own will impact you in terms of the cost. I have no other choice than to buy whatever price I need to pay because I am dependent upon this work and whatever I earn is the source of my income. This could have been good if the fare was also increased proportionately so that I pay for the fuel charge but sadly this has not happened. There is some increase in the fare but it is not good enough to compensate for the gap that has gone up with CNG prices.

The electric vehicle is a good option I believe and the government is trying to promote this. This is a good and cost-effective option as far as I know in this market but it is in the early stage and even the cars are very expensive. I do not have exact calculations but roughly we need to pay almost double the price that we pay for a normal car running through petrol or diesel. I cannot afford electric vehicle as of now because it is expensive so the government needs to pay attention to this area to see how they can make them more affordable for people. It is good that electric vehicles are a good alternative for a better planet and I hope the government does something to reduce the prices of electric cars and this will help many.
