Hello beautiful people. Hope you're doing amazing today. This is the start of a new week and eventually a new month. I believe we all have plans to work hard and do our very BEST as the month draws to a close and as a new one draws nearer. As we are putting in the required effort, time and time again, we forget a particular aspect that is very required.
Now let's talk about an aspect not discussed enough, the importance of giving ourselves some well-deserved rest. I mean, come on, even Superheroes take a break every now and then, and trust me, you're a Superhero in your own right.
Whether you're the Iron Man of spreadsheets or the Wonder Woman of conference calls or crypto, you deserve some downtime where you will heal the used systems and allow your organs recover.
Now, I know what you may be thinking, "But how can I possibly find time to rest when my inbox is overflowing, my boss is breathing down my neck, and my to-do list is super long?"
We have all found ourselves in such situations where a million deadlines are fast approaching.
Well, it's all about priorities.
Remember that scene in" The Matrix Movie" where Neo was facing Morpheus and had to choose between the red pill (overworking and getting burnt out in this case) and the blue pill (slacking on your job)?
Well, think of Rest as the PURPLE PILL. It is the right place between doing too much and doing nothing at all.
It's the miraculous elixir that gives you the power to recharge your energy and then get back to work at the same time.
So instead of sacrificing your sanity and getting burnt out from overworking or just taking a little sleep until slumber ruins you, you note that you need to take a step back, breathe and give yourself some rest .
Finding time to rest is easier said than done, so here are a few tips to help you make it happen:
1. Delegate like a Boss
Remember even Superheroes need to help each other. You can't do it all alone at the end of the day.
So learn to delegate tasks and trust your colleagues to get the job done. Not only will this free up some time for you, but it will also give your colleagues a chance to shine. Talk about a win-win situation!

2. Schedule a "me time" like a VIP
Block off some time in your calendar for self-care activities weekly or monthly, whether it's a walk outside, hanging out with friends or simply watching your favorite movie series. Treat yourself like the VIP you are.
3. Disconnect to Reconnect
The digital world is sucking up our time and life like a funnel, the moment you click on an app, you will not know when you have spent hours there.
We live in a digital world where our phones are practically glued to our hands. But guess what? The world won't end if you put your phone on silent for an hour or two.
Take a break from the constant notifications and reconnect with the real world. You might be surprised at how refreshing it can be.
Your loved ones are there, your husband, wife, parents, siblings and even your friends. Spend quality time with them. Social media will always be there but they will not.
Always remember that rest is not a luxury, it is a necessity for productivity and success.
4. Don't be a workaholic like Jack from 'The Shining' or an overachiever like 'Hermione' from Harry Potter.

Take a deep breath, embrace the purple pill (Rest), and give yourself the break you deserve from time to time. You'll come back even stronger than ever, ready to conquer other activities of the week.
Stay motivated, keep accomplishing those goals, remember to allocate time for rest and have a super fulfilling week ahead.
Rest is highly crucial when we get to the point where we continuously overwork ourselves, it makes us unproductive at the end of the day.
