HSBC Bangladesh uses blockchain to import 20,000 tons of fuel oil from Singapore

HSBC Global Banking in Bangladesh executed the country's first blockchain-based credit card transaction on the Contour DLT platform.

Contour is a blockchain platform built with Corda R3 that connects financial institutions and corporate entities in the Decentralized Trade Finance Network.

The blockchain was also used to settle 176,000 iron ore trade between Malaysia and China, with the Philippines-based Asian Development Bank also using the platform to implement the first LC blockchain transaction across the border between Vietnam and Thailand.
