I guess this is one of the big questions of a market based token economy. When and how will certain crypto assets (coins) rise as opposed to others. We all assume and are told that it has something to do with market demand based on the value added of a product. So I guess the answer will come down to how much value Steem holds for us and for others. The price will rise when demand rises, the more people that engage here I think will pump demand. I don't think we are there yet. But I think that time will come. Right now I think most people see BTC as out of reach and so they might be looking at crypto but don't know how to activate.

Yes, that is true, the more engagement here is going to boost the price to an extent but that's not a major driving factor for the price. The demand has to increase substantially for the price to boost. In the last 2 days the price of Steem has boosted up a little and that's a good sign against the complete stagnancy.
