Book:- How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie- An Easy Way to Become a Good Conversationalist

It's the weekend time and I hope that you are having a good time and staying safe.

I shared my last post from the book "How to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie and the topic was "A Sure Way of Making Enemies and How to Avoid it". These days I am reading books slowly so it's taking over a week to finish one chapter.

In the last chapter, I had talked about my learning from the book how can we ensure not to make our enemies. Few tips that are really very helpful advice by Dale in the book. In this post, I have gone through the chapter in which author Dale has talked about the ways to become a Good Conversationalist.

Remember that the people you are talking to are a hundred times more interested in themselves and their wants and problems than they are in you and your problems. A person’s toothache means more to that person than a famine in China which kills a million people. A boil on one’s neck interests one more than forty earthquakes in Africa. Think of that the next time you start a conversation.

I believe that now everyone is got of having a nice conversation but its quite important. We surely learn it with our experiences but it might take quite long for us to realize where we are lacking. A good conversation means the other person is taking part and enjoying the topic and it does not happen if we don't care or think about another person.

Basically, if the topic is related to the people you want to talk with then for sure you can get more attention and interest from the people and this way the conversation will be so much productive and meaningful. Losing interest is another reason that could lead the conversation nowhere and we need to understand this. A good Conversationalist is the one who understands it when he feels like people are getting distracted then need to change the topic that interests people.

Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.

It's not always important to speak but even more important to listen to what others are saying. Usually, people like to talk about themselves so its good to give them this opportunity and listen to what they are saying. This way people will speak all that they want to and also connect with us.

I want to mention here that I have been reading the book by Dale Carnegie and its such a world of knowledge that I suggest everyone should read it. I am not a good book reader but if the book is good then I read each chapter and happy to say this book is so nice.
