25th December - Hooray! Christmas Is Here

This is a time of the year that most people have anticipated for and here we are, in Christmas day. This year's Christmas is remarkable because it is the first post-pandemic Christmas that we are celebrating and as such, we are grateful for many things. It is true that you may have expected a few more things and some of them may not have come through, but at least you should be grateful for what you have - life. This is not a season to complain about what you do not have but to celebrate what you have.

There are many people that have died that had better qualifications to live than you, but here you are, alive and celebrating another Christmas. If you can only think well (from the present to the past), then you will see reasons to be grateful. In this season, do not allow anyone or anything to put you under undue pressure or make you to do unwholesome things just to feel belonged. Anything you have is more than enough to celebrate the season with. Remember, it is not the volume or quantity that matters but the heart and the quality.

Reasons for the season

A lot of people have misrepresented the reason for Christmas and some even believe that it is a season to show off new designer wears, or to flaunt expensive lifestyle, while they tend to forget the main reason for the season - Showing love. As you map out plans to celebrate, do you also include others in your celebration? Christmas is not all about living for yourself but remembering others and living for them too.

Throughout this yuletide, how many people have smiled because of you? How many people's hearts have you caused to leap for joy because of your acts of goodness to them. It does not matter what you have, the truth is that you have something that can affect the life of someone else positively. Of course, no matter how low you think your status is, the truth is that you are still higher than someone else. Sometimes, it may not be the very big things that will create a difference in the life of someone but small things that may easily be neglected.

I know that many people are already expecting that people will gift them something for Christmas. However, on your own part, how many people have you made plans to gift something for Christmas? This season is not just about being on the receiving side but you should also try to extend a hand of love to others. Even from the ones you receive, you can still share from them and put smiles on someone's face.

There are lots of people that do not know where their next hope will come from especially in this period. Your little acts of love that you extend to them may be all that they will need to have their hopes restored. The truth is, there is a kind of inner joy that comes by extending a hand of love to others. More so, when you cause the heart of others to be joyful, your own heart will not lack joy. This is because, what you cause to happen for others automatically happens to you.

Throughout this Christmas season, try to extend love to as many as you can. Living for yourself alone is not the true joy of living but living for others as well.
