Twitter Now Automatically Adds Captions to Videos for Improved Access

Twitter has begun rolling out the much-needed feature for its users to automatically add captions to new videos uploaded to a small blog site. The company recently announced the feature and announced that live captions will be available in videos in over 30 languages, including English, Thai, Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Japanese, Hindi, Spanish, and more.

Now, for those who don’t know, Twitter has been widely criticized for not adding accessibility features to its site. For example, the company introduced the feature of voice tweets without automatic captions last year, during which the company was heavily criticized. Following this, it emerged that Twitter did not have a dedicated outreach team to deal with such issues on the platform.

However, the company faced this criticism and later announced that it had created two dedicated teams to ignore the accessibility features in its area. Twitter has since added automatic captions for voice tweets and Spaces, its Clubhouse-like audio chamber, to break the language barrier for users. And with video captions, Twitter has recently expanded its most accessible game.

Now, although the default captions for the Twitter video feature are a good thing for users, something has been caught. Twitter has highlighted the fact that auto-captions will only appear on new videos uploaded to the platform.

Additionally, there is no way to report bad or inaccurate captions on videos, according to a Twitter spokesman. However, a spokesman told The Verge that "we are always looking for ways to improve our accessibility features." Therefore, the company may offer ways to report inaccurate captions or add automated captions to future videos.

In the meantime, Users will see automatic captions for new videos on Twitter mobile apps for Android and Apple IOS and the web platform. So, what do you think about the new captions added to the video on Twitter?
