Just yesterday I discussed about the private key, it won't make sense if we are not discussing about the public key also. The services that both of them are offering in the cryptocurrency ecosystem are amazing. They are also opposite of each other. If you go through the post that I dropped yesterday you should have gained wider knowledge about what public key is. In anything that you are doing, you should knows that being safe in the cryptocurrency ecosystem is an integral part that you should be placing all levels of seriousness on. If you are that type that is always careless about your safety in the cryptocurrency ecosystem you will be disappointed at the tail end over the outcome of what you might see. You will be the scape goat in the cryptocurrency ecosystem and the blockchain at large. You will be surprised seeing your cryptocurrency wallet being hacked and all funds gone simply because your are careless. Don't be the one that will be used as sacrificial lamb. Most scammers out there are very smart, if you are not that careful enough, they can easily lure you into clicking random links, once you fall to their cheap scam and connect your cryptocurrency wallet, you are in trouble. I remembered vividly how I falled into this mess and I got hacked. It was random link that I came across on Twitter that I clicked on, after that I connected my wallet and some of my major coins/tokens were moved out of my account. As per my high level of experience, I was shocked and surprised over what happened . I was left in disbelieve but I was not thinking much about it, I saw it that despite me loosing fund, I have also through the hack process learnt alot. Since then I have opt my safety way, I don't just rushed into clicking anything link, I always observe it properly before doing so. This is simply because I don't want affliction to rise the second time.

As for your information, a public key is a key that you can use to receive cryptocurrency fund. It is always tied to the private key. You should feel free anytime you send out your public keys to anybody, they can't hack your account with it. The moment you hear the word public key, you should knows that as the name implies, it is a key that you can expose to anybody, it won't add negative effect to your cryptocurrency token/coins. As per saying that both the private key and public key are tied together you should knows that you can only use the public key to receive your token but you will be needing the private key to carry out transaction like moving funds out of your cryptocurrency wallet. As for your information you should knows that in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, the private keys is very vital and it should be treated so special. One thing that you should know is that private and public keys can be used to read encrypted informations in the cryptocurrency blockchain.
