Most people like to think in terms of white or black, but the truth is that in life, there are other colors that the human eyes can see. Hence, reality may never be in black or white - and this emphasizes that most people want to over simplify things.

We live in a complex world, and as Albert Einstein once said, "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." When it comes to the matter of creativity, most people who want to be creative like to think in a straight line.

But that's hardly ever how creativity works, usually creative people stumble upon the ideas for their great creations by accident. It's hardly a straight line process from start to finish. Sometimes, the music from the radio, may inspire some amazing creative work and so on.

The problem that lots of people have with regards to creativity is that they want to make a very complicated process overly simple. It's impossible to simplify what is crooked, bent and twisted by it's very nature. You need to learn to adapt.

To be a truly creative person, your thinking cannot be rigid but rather fluid. You learn to open up your mind to new possibilities and connections. Creativity is more like the crooked or twisted branching of a tree, and not a straight line process from the beginning to ending of your creative work.
