Recently, I stumbled upon this image as it was shared on a Twitter channel I follow. It deals with password security, and it is meant to be a wake-up call to many of us, including myself. It deals with password security, and how quickly a hacker is able to discover and hack your passwords, depending on the structure of the password.
We all know that 1234 is the most stupid password on earth. I guess we also know that writing 12345678 doesn't make it so much better. But, if you look at the picture above, you will see that even a combination of 15 numbers is something a hacker can solve quite easily. You might mess things up a bit if you add some characters, or have a password with only characters. But, if you really want to make things hard for hackers, you need to mix everything, and make it have at least 10 characters.
Check the image for yourself, it speaks quite clearly.
Remembering such passwords is impossible!
Now, this is when the password business becomes a mess. You could make one super password with 15-16 characters and remember it and use it everywhere. But, when a page is hacked or the passwords leaked, then suddenly your super password has been leaked, and since it is often connected to your email address or username, hackers will use the same credentials to gain access to other accounts you own.
That is why you need different passwords on different sites. And that is when it becomes impossible to remember them all. As a result, the password business is a real business, because most of us need a password manager to keep control of all our passwords. I don't like the fact that I need a password manager, but if you want to have any chance in the world to actually use secure passwords and different passwords for all sites, you will need one!
I am using LastPass, but there are many other password managers out there worth using.
Be smart now, before it is too late!
It is tempting to say that your passwords and your accounts aren't that important. But, if you have a Steem/Hive account, you already have funds, money, interests, privacy data, and more... and it is all protected by passwords. Don't say that it doesn't matter and that nobody is interested in you. That is wrong. If someone gets access to your email, they can even send false email to your friends and gain their credentials and private data, simply because your friends believe you are the one contacting them.
In other words, stay safe, change your passwords, and do your uttermost to steer clear of dangers!
Do you remember the Mona airdrop a few years ago?
Haha, a few years ago I wrote about a so-called Mona airdrop. It was supposed to be worth 50 USD or something, so I joined and I even encouraged others to join. During the signup process, you had to use your email address, connect YouTube account, Instagram and more. And of course, you had to use a password.
I later discovered that there was no Mona airdrop, meaning that this was all a hoax. I never suffered any harm because of this, but if the people behind the hoax were smart, they would for sure be able to gain access to lots of email addresses (with passwords), social media accounts and more.
That is just an easy example of why it is important to use different passwords everywhere, because it will make a little mistake (like applying for such an airdrop) harmless, because the password you create there cannot be found on any other of your accounts!
Have a nice and safe day everyone!

Hi @unbiasedwriter
As for the security, that may be something relative. I always make a good alphanumeric combination of my keys, and I must write them down somewhere outside the computer, however the passwords are always stored in some way on the servers and encrypted.

@writerimpartial shows a reality so visible that it is considered a simplicity.
It's amazing how easily one creates insecure passwords.
There are cases that have taught me to have other types of passwords.
The first is the type of passwords that banking institutions require to enter their websites. Alpha-numeric combination with symbols I think is a good option. They are not so difficult to remember and give a slightly greater margin of security.
The second is the Steem password system. It is quite difficult to remember and it leads to the use of programs like the ones you mentioned but they have a pretty big margin of security.
This type of key, along with the security of the system you use, should keep you from violating your privacy when you are surfing the net.
You're never far away from it, but making it harder for those who want to violate your security is essential.
Very interesting the picture you share with us through your publication. Thank you for it.
Until the next

wow, the image really speaks for itself, it's amazing how exposed we are, even with the passwords we consider safe, according to that it turns out that with the amount and combination of characters I normally use and feel safe, a hacker can hack it in an hour. It really is a wake-up call.

The security of our accounts is important, that image is very interesting it shows how vulnerable we are when we put easy and fast passwords, greetings and thanks for sharing

Hello friend, this is an interesting topic, our keys will always be important to us, especially if we handle large amounts of money. We must be cautious, I don't know much about programming but I think it is important to create a key that is easy for us to remember. Now if you have many accounts, it will be necessary to be able to save all of them since we are not a machine and it is probable that we cannot memorize them all hehe.
Greetings!
