Over the past few years, Google has often been accused of tracking the location of its users even if they turn off location-sharing features on their smartphones. Back in 2020, the Mountain View giant was sued by the US state of Arizona for fraudulent location tracking operations.
We even saw a report about inappropriate location tracking for Android users recently. Now, despite a previous lawsuit, four top US lawyers have filed a lawsuit against the company, claiming that Google continues to track users' location even when they block location sharing.
The lawsuit, filed by three U.S. attorneys and led by Attorney General Karl A. Racine of Columbia County, alleges that Google makes its users believe they have full control over their data tracking activities. However, it has been found that Google users are not actually able to stop the company from collecting and storing their location data and even making a profit from it.
The lawsuit also alleges that Google uses the personal information of its customers and users, including location data, in targeted advertisements. The company is reportedly doing this in order to continue to grow its business and increase revenue for advertisers.
The reality is that contrary to Google's disclosure, it continues to look at customers in a more orderly and profitable way with customer data, "Attorney General Karl A. Racine said in a statement.
Following the lawsuit, a Google spokesman denied the allegations. "The attorney general has filed a lawsuit based on false claims and outdated claims about our plans," José Castañeda, Google's policy spokesman, told The Verge. “We always create privacy features in our products and provide strict local data controls,” added Castañeda.
In the meantime, if you think Google is the only company that collects your personal information and tracks your location, I'm afraid you're wrong. Another technology giant who has learned the art of collecting user data to quote - not to mention "improving" its resources is Apple.

From the moment we register, we buy an electronic device that has internet at that moment we are connected to any part of the world and our data is located, it is absurd to think that they will not use it even if they tell us that it is not so. Besides, we never read the fine print before clicking on the "Accept" button.

Greetings friend @winy in this era where technology is emerging is illogical to think that we are not monitored, remember that we are facing a total connectivity of our planet and large corporations like google have at the service all the technology to make them.

This is true that Google is following us and it is taking lot of information about ourselves through the devices and their tools but I don't think there is a way which can stop because we cannot stop using this smartphones and that I think is one of the biggest source of providing the information to Google.
