Listen to Taylor Swift's Haunting "Carolina" From "Where the Crawdads Sing"
"Where the Crawdads Sing" is adapted from the 2018 bestselling novel of the same name. The story follows a young North Carolina woman named Kya (Daisy Edgar-Jones), who's suspected of murdering a man — and Swift is a huge fan of the book. "'Where The Crawdads Sing' is a book I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago," the 11-time Grammy-winning artist captioned her Instagram post sharing the trailer back in March. "As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side."
She continued, "I wrote the song 'Carolina' alone and asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it. I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story. You'll hear it fully soon, but for now check out the @crawdadsmovie trailer for a clip!"
"Where the Crawfords Sing" comes from Reese Witherspoon and her production company, Hello Sunshine. Witherspoon's previous book-to-screen adaptations include "Big Little Lies," "Wild," and "Little Fires Everywhere." Listen to the song above.
