Greetings Steemians!!!

This is my first time posting in this community and I would like to share to you one of the ways on how to take care of ourselves. ☺️

A break from work is the best feeling we can have. I spent my holiday in a way that I can benefited to. I went trekking with my friends at a place that we called in our city as Sleeping Dinosaur. It is called as it is because of its form and shaped like a T-rex sleeping.

I woke up early today at 5:00 in the morning. I just had coffee, bread and egg as my breakfast so I can have the energy to the activity today and of course water to hydrate. At 5:45, I already got prepared and texted my friends that I'm on my way to the bus terminal where we all meet up. At 6:15am the bus that we ride left the terminal on our way to the view deck. The view deck is the starting point of the trek.

So we started the trek energetic, chit chats while walking whilst seeing the beautiful view of the hill. Yes, we got tired walking after 30 minutes but those tiredness went away after seeing the amazing view.

FB_IMG_1621855586841.jpgThis was the most difficult part of the trek, there's no grass to hold on to so you should be careful walking. As you can see at the photo, they just sat down and walk like a duck so that would be easy for them.

After almost 1 hour of trekking we rested for a while. We entered in the community of the island. We had a little food intake so that it would not be difficult climbing to the arms of the dinosaur, yes we're not finish yet! 😄

FB_IMG_1623489161062.jpgFortunately there's available "sari-sari" store in this community. We bought food and more water so we will stay hydrated since the weather is getting hot.

And the trek continues...

FB_IMG_1621855531272.jpgAfter resting for 15 minutes, we decided to get back up and continued walking. We found a little your guide for us.

FB_IMG_1621855547948.jpgAfter 20 minutes, we're finally on the top of the dinosaur's arms.

We finally went home after the great adventure. We ride a boat going back to the city center and it was a fun-filled experience.

Health Benefits of Trekking

  • Improved Fitness

It is the major heath benefit of trekking is that it helps improve our physical health. It improves our strength, agility, and cardio fitness if we spend multiple hours in trail while ascending hills and climbing. It gives our whole body a workout.

  • Reduces Stress

Spending time on the trails or other outdoors activity can cleanse our mind from the worries we had from work and home. It is so relaxing especially you see amazing views and breathe fresh air.

  • Social Benefits

While being with the nature you will enjoy it and forget about digital world, you can spend away with your gadgets. You can talk with your friends or buddies while trekking, encouraging and motivate each other. It can help out friendship stronger. And to add, while trekking you can meet other group also who are also on the trail.

  • Inner Cleanse

In Trekking we tend to hydrate ourselves. We can't drink coffee or alcohol but more water instead and eat healthy foods. Consuming more water can rejuvenate our skin. As they say "We are what we eat", what we consume it will reflect through our appearance. So inner health should be prioritized too.

The whole activity was tiring. I had a muscle pain but I didn't regret doing it and I definitely be going back yo trekking again since it's good for our health. Spending my holiday with trekking is a fulfilment. I'll start doing it often, it's an investment with a lifetime gains.

All photos are mine and taken with my mobile phone Asus zenfone 3 max (5.5).
