Hello steem lovers,

I know we are all doing well. Today am happy to share with you on what motivated me to join steem and remain active. Special thanks to this platform @aroundtheworld for such opportunity to share my story and to @oppongk for putting up this contest.

Before i go ahead to share my motivation to join steem, i would like to share what i know about steemit and how i joined for better understanding.

WHAT I KNOW ABOUT STEEMIT

steemit is an amazing blockchain platform where content creators make quality post and are rewarded for their post using a crypto currency known as steem. Steemit began 5 years ago and it has come to stay.

HOW I JOINED STEEMIT

my name is Ruth Joe with the user name on steemit as @ruthjoe and I am from Nigeria. This is how i joined steemit. It encourages hardwork and original content. Its generally a platform where you learn new things.

I joined steemit earlier this year, Feb 2021 so approximately am two months old but it seems like i have been here for a longer time because of the experience i have been able to gather.
I travelled down to eastern part of Nigeria for a conference although i live in the western part of Nigeria, precisely Lagos state. met a friend there and she kept talking about steemit. Hmm me i was like this people have come again to scam me or what? I finally decided to ask her what steemit was about and she told me, i was reluctant to join because i have joined so many online platform that finally crashed or was scammed. She told me of all the benefit and i decided to give it a trial and so i joined.

WHAT MOTIVATED ME TO JOIN STEEMIT

MY FIRST MOTIVATION
My first motivation for joining is the fact that it is NOT A REFERRAL BUSINESS( ie i must refer people for me to earn or reach a particular level before i earn). This was one of my biggest motivations. Like i said above i have joined platforms and business where you grow in it base on referral, so getting to know about steemit was an excitement for me. Have always had issues with referral things.

This second motivation is very vital and cant be ignored no matter how i or anyone tries to paint the picture. It is the fact that YOU WRITE OR MAKE POST AND EARN. it was so amazing for me to find out that all i need to do to earn on the platform is make quality original content and be consistent with it and i will be voted and then i will earn. I still find that amazing and it encourages me to remain active on steemit. Truly money is a huge motivation.

THIRD MOTIVATION

I got motivated to join steemit when i discovered It has beautiful COMMUNITIES WHERE I CAN EXPRESS MYSELF AND CONNECT. Embedded in steemit platform are communities where i can express myself, my skills and be a part of their contest. Isn't this amazing? For example i love food and cooking, i joined @steemfood where i can display my food and see how to prepare other dishes from other people's post. @steemwomenclub. @steemgeography and the rest of them. I learn amazing things ranging from culture, environment, food etc. And i have connected to people all over the world just by been a part of a community. Like today am here in this platform for a contest.

FOURTH MOTIVATION

My fourth motivation is CREATIVITY AND LEARNING. Aside the earning part of this platform, everyday i look forward to coming online to learn great new things. I see so much creativity on this platform and it inspires me to become creative too. From @cryptoacademy i have learnt so much about crypto currencies. This is one big motivation for me to remain active on steemit.

The firth motivation for me is SEEING OTHER PEOPLE SUCCEED. For me this is one thing that keeps me going on the platform when i see how people who were nothing share their stories of how they started on steemit it gives me motivation to continue, reminding me that i will make it to if i don't quit. For example i read a story on @steemschools about the founder @dobartim on how he started and failed but finally succeeded. Such stories serves as motivation to me.

sixth motivation is the fact that i can steem from the comfort of my home or anywhere i feel comfortable as long as i have my smart phone or tap top with me. I don't need to join the hustling and bustling of the day. So it motivates me to continue.

This is a summary of what motivated me to join steemit and keeps me active.
