Everyone is familiar with these two popular messaging apps. Signal was made with more focused on privacy in mind. Later on, Whatsapp also included end-to-end encryption for its own app.
I am personally a fan of Signal because its open-source and it cannot be directly influenced by Government agencies. On the other hand, Whatsapp is owned by Facebook and you already have an idea, how FB is notorious for selling user data.
I used to think how service like whatsapp can be free for the start but later on find out thats its all about data of users.
Signal's download on PLaystore has increased to more than 10 million and going to give tough competition to Whatsapp soon. Their developers claim that this app will soon upgrade many new features. Furthermore, all the emoji pack available in Signal are also encrypted, minimizing risk of data leak. That is not the case with Whatsapp and still emoji pack on signal is more lively and fun.
