Sunday is always a day full with spiritual activities, a welcome respite after six days of diligent effort. Yesterday, however, was a unique Sunday for our congregation, as we did not have our customary meeting due to a special program organized for the English congregation.
In light of this, we were encouraged to dedicate the day to field service ministry. Rather than remaining at home, I opted to join my fellow congregants in this endeavor.
Yesterday was a day filled with field service ministry, an engaging game of football, and enjoyable entertainment with friends. I am delighted to share how I spent my previous day, and it all began in the following manner.....
MORNING SESSION
I began my day at 6:00 a.m. with a refreshing examination of the scriptures alongside my family. Following our morning devotions, I diligently completed my assigned chores. With everything in order, I departed from home at 8:45 a.m., bound for the Kingdom Hall, where I was to meet with my Christian brothers/sisters.

En route to the Kingdom Hall, I had left my power bank at the charging point, taking advantage of the opportunity to replenish its energy, as our area was currently experiencing a power outage. Upon arrival, we received instructive guidance from our team leader, preparing us for the day's field service, which was scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m.

We received insightful instructions on how to approach our interactions with the people we would meet in our assigned territory. We were reminded to be kind, empathetic, and understanding, taking the time to learn about their struggles and burdens. Our goal was to offer comfort and solace, just as our Master, Jesus Christ, did during his earthly ministry.
Following the instructions, an elder was appointed to pair us up into teams of two. I was delighted to be paired with a new publisher, a bright and enthusiastic 10-year-old girl. We said a prayer, seeking guidance and wisdom for our outreach efforts.

Our team leader strategically divided us into two groups, each comprising 20 publishers, which translated to 10 pairs per group. I was honored to serve as the assistant leader of Group A, which was assigned to cover Territory 5, while Group B focused on Territory 6. With our designated territories in hand, we set out with enthusiasm, and the declaration of the Goodnews began in earnest.
Sunday's morning field service was a truly enriching experience, filled with meaningful encounters. Despite the initial hesitation from some individuals, I was heartened to meet people who graciously lent me their ears, even while engaged in other activities.
One encounter that left an indelible mark on my heart was with a grieving mother who had lost her 12-year-old child that very morning. Her anguish was palpable as she wept and lamented, overcome with sorrow at the thought of never seeing her beloved daughter again. Moved by her pain, I couldn't help but shed tears alongside her😭.
In that moment, I sought to offer her a message of hope and comfort. I shared Revelation 21:4, which promises a future free from death, pain, and sorrow. As she listened, her eyes locked onto the words, and I could see the faintest glimmer of solace. Her faith in the Bible brought her a measure of peace, and I felt grateful to have been able to provide some comfort in her darkest hour.

Having completed our territory assignment within a remarkable 2 hours, we patiently waited for Group B to conclude their outreach efforts. After a brief 15-minute wait, they emerged from their territory, marching out in unison like a well-coordinated army.

Once the entire congregation had assembled, we proceeded to make arrangements for Bible study. I had the privilege of visiting two of my Bible students, and together, we delved into the scriptures, exploring the depths of God's Word.
AFTERNOON SESSION
As the day drew to a close, I concluded my field service ministry at 1:00 p.m. and headed home, looking forward to some well-deserved rest after a fulfilling morning of ministry.
Later, I woke up at 3:00 p.m. to collect the jersey I had booked for our upcoming friendly match, scheduled to kick off at 4:30 p.m. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the person who failed to deliver.

However, God's provision came through in an unexpected way. Ma'am @ngoenyi graciously offered to lend me her personal Steemit-branded jersey. I was overjoyed by her kindness and quickly arranged for a bike ride to her house to collect the jersey. The round trip cost me 500 Naira, approximately 1.7 Steem.

I arrived at the field before 4:00 p.m., giving me ample time to prepare for the friendly match. I began by laying out the jersey under the warm sun, then put on my football kit. To get my blood pumping and minimize fatigue, I jogged around the entire field, getting myself mentally and physically ready for the game.
As I was jogging and warming up, the opposing team from the Akpasak congregation arrived with their male and female players. Our team was already waiting, eager to face off against our friends from Akpasak.
EVENING SESSION
The referee from the Ikot Idang congregation blew the whistle, signaling the start of the friendly match. I took my position as the centre back (number 5), while @kidi40 began as our goalkeeper before later switching to the number 11 position.
During the initial 20 minutes, our team faced intense pressure from the Akpasak congregation. However, a strategic change in formation enabled us to regain control and capitalize on scoring opportunities. We successfully netted our first goal after 30 minutes of play.
As the game progressed, Akpasak's control began to wane, and we seized the opportunity to pressurize them further. By the end of the match, we had secured a decisive 5-0 victory, marking a triumphant win over the Akpasak congregation.

Following the exciting friendly football match, we were treated to refreshing chilled mineral water and soft drinks. As we left the football field, we decided to linger outside, enjoying each other's company and basking in the joy of our victory.
To celebrate, we purchased a few bottles of Big Ben, a popular alcoholic drink, to share with our friends. We then visited our sister, who runs a fruit stand near the junction, and spent quality time together, savoring the sweet taste of strawberry-flavored Big Ben drinks.

It was an unforgettable evening spent with my beloved Christian brothers and friends. We concluded the day by purchasing fruits worth 4,000 Naira (approximately 16.7 Steem) from our Christian sister's fruit stand.
Indeed, my Sunday was truly blessed. As the day drew to a close, I bid farewell to my dear friends, grateful for the joy and team spirit we shared. This is my diary✍🏾.
