What is the most famous festival of your country? When it is celebrated or occurs?
The most traditional and famous festival in our country is Pohela Baishakh. And if I say from the communal point of view, since I am a Hindu, then the biggest festival of our country is Durga Puja. And the biggest festival of Muslims is Eid-ul-Fitr. Since we are talking about national festivals here, from that point of view, the biggest festival of our country is Pahela Baishakh. This year, Pahela Baishakh of our country is celebrated on the first day of the month of Baishakh. This festival is celebrated with great pomp by every Bengali nation. This year it is celebrated on February 14, 2025. However, this year it was celebrated on a day that was the most important day of my life. This day was the happy birthday of my beloved wife. This day is a memorable day of my life. This festival is celebrated around the Bengali New Year. The New Year is celebrated on this day at the beginning of the twelve Bengali months. Pahela Boishakh is a name of unique feeling and emotion for every Bengali. In our country, Pahela Boishakh is celebrated with great pomp and show, regardless of caste, color, and religion.
What is the significance of that festival in your country's traditions and in your religion?
The main tradition of this festival is: It was celebrated in India from the Mughal Empire under the rule of Emperor Babur. Before there was no calendar, one could tell which day and time by looking at the calendar. However, in our country, this festival was first celebrated in 1372 Bengali in the Ramna Batamul of Bengal. However, this festival has no religious significance. In this festival, the Bengali nation used to hold fairs on the first day of Baishakh in various places in the villages. All kinds of things were sold at the fair, especially on this day we used to fly kites.

How is that festival celebrated? Is there any traditional foods or activities linked to it?
Now the era has changed, so with the evolution of time, it is now celebrated digitally. This festival is very fun in the village. On this day, mango weddings are held in the village. Which we do. We do not eat mangoes until the people of our Hindu community get married. This is the message of our elders. The main dishes of this festival are panta bhat, fried hilsa fish, raw chilies, and various types of bharta. But especially alu bharta is the main one.

What is one unique fact about this festival that most people don’t know?
The customs of Pahela Baishakh are a unique addition to the Bengali nation today. On this day, young men wear red and white Punjabis, young women wear saris, and children wear various colorful clothes. On this day, guests are treated to yogurt, sweets, various rice cakes, sandesh, and a special attraction is Panta Bhat Hilsa. However, the special attraction of Panta Bhat and Hilsa Pohela Baishakh in the morning is not yet observed in the villages. And what our Hindu community observes on this day in the villages is: Different types of vegetables are cooked together. Minimum 20 to 30 types of items are cooked together. These are eaten as medicine. But many people don't know this.
