A beautiful week to all my friends. This subject is very interesting and somewhat amusing to me. People are mostly hunting for money in their bid to make ends meet, which never does. In the process of doing so, many things suffer, like mentioned depression, mental health degradation, lack of peace in the family and amongst people generally and so many other vices.

This contest provides us with an opportunity to express our view on what gives us more joy in this life.

Are we all sacrificing peace to make money?

This question is very pertinent in our society nowadays. The quest for money seems to be overwhelming and forms the focus of many peoples struggle and life.

This quest for money becomes very important that peace is sacrificed on a platter of gold. Many can do anything just to make money even at the detriment and loss of life of another person. We have seen friends and family members become enemies overnight just due to inordinate desire to become rich and make money.
The world is embroiled in financial war and sometimes outright war due to their money-based selfish desires. Husbands and wives are separated and living as room mates in their homes because each person wants to be richer and control their funds by themselves. Children fight over money to the point of killing each

What has happened? Peace is totally eradicated from our relationships, families, communities countries and the entire world.

So without mincing words, peace have been sacrificed for money.

Which is wiser to spend and earn or to spend after earning and saving?

An old adage says Do not count your chicks until the eggs are hatched. So spending before earning is same as counting the chicks before the eggs are hatched which could be disastrous. The habit of spending before earnings have thrown so many people into debt as their expectations of incoming earnings are not fulfilled, thus leading them into more poverty, loss of trust from friends, colleagues and family members. This also leads to uncontrolled spending habit and thus leads to expenditure on wants and not needs.

On the otherhand, it is always better to earn, save and then spend. When you earn, you are in a better position to ascertain the limits of your expenditure and still keep for the rainy days. When a person spends within his earnings, it protects his dignity and self esteem. It also enables him to enjoy some good relationship with people hiding from the public eye.

So it is better to spend after earning and savings.

Apart from money, what brings you peace and happiness?

So many people believes that money brings happiness and peace. However, I tend to disagree on money being the major source of happiness. Why? If that is true, rich and wealthy people should be the happiest and most peaceful people on earth. But to the contrary, it is not true. They are the unhappiest group of people. Having being close to some of them, I can come to that conclusion.

So what brings peace and happiness to people? Godly contentment. This comes from obedience to the words of the holy book and carrying out our responsibilities in accord with its directions. No wonder a famous Indian man (Ghandi) once said "If only Christians would live by what is written on the Sermon on the mount by Jesus, there would never be war in earth but peace everywhere"

So Godly contentment and obedience to His words is the primary source of peace and happiness, while money is secondary.

Conclusion

Peace seems to be elusive on earth today all because of selfish interest. So we should not sacrifice money and personal for peace. Striving hard and ensuring not to allow greed to get the better of us.

Everyone should also learn to spend wisely and earn before spending to avoid being kept in the quagmire of debt.

Godly contentment and obedience to the Almighty can give us the greatest joy, peace and happiness we can ever imagine.

If you ask me about this topic. I would say money is important but your health and and mental peace are important too. You keep on toiling all your life. And if you don't have. peace of mind. I do not think the money can buy it for you. So we should have everything. but in moderation. I love your examples.

Your post highlights a critical issue in our society, the relentless pursuit of money often comes at the cost of our peace and mental health. While money is important, it's meaningless without well-being. People should prioritize their peace over financial gain because money can't buy inner harmony or mental health. Spending should be wise and purposeful, focusing on necessities rather than frivolous desires.

Hello dear @benton3!

You make a very wise point when you say that the desire of wealth can cause relationships to fall apart and cause instability in general. How these situations might arise from money desires is troubling. How might people in your opinion begin to value relationships and peace more than money in everyday life?

Dear friend, I hope many will realize that life is not just about money and wealth but the beautiful time spent with precious friends and those whom love you.

There is much more to life than money.

Surly dear. We can't buy happiness. Happiness is inner feelings which comes from having a quality of time with family

¡Saludos amigo!🤗

Thanks friend for your opinion and kind response. Really appreciate taking time.off to go through.

@benton3
You are right, people cross all limits to earn money. To earn money, they even take other people's lives. Most of the time, money is everything in life. But money cannot bring peace. It always creates problems in human life but many times money also helps in buying the necessities of life. It is really very important and it is the system of nature.

Yeah my friend, we need to strike a balance on how we view money. When we recognize that, it will help promote peace a lot.
