After a healthy week here on Steemit, I hope to engage in the weekly power-up by joining this contest by @jyoti-thelight. So, here we go.

We all agree that Steem Power plays a significant role in many areas of the platform. That's why we promote it and guide new users to join the trend. If you still have doubts, you can clarify once you read this article. As we know at least 50% of our posts' rewards automatically convert into Steem Power. We have to play with the other 50%, increasing our power and also if need to withdraw some to usage.

• Powering up means the liquid Steem in our wallets to staked state. First, go to the wallet, there you can see the amount of STEEM at the top. In the drop-down menu, the power-up option can be found. So, by clicking it, we have a very straightforward procedure.

The importance of Power Up

We have to understand that Steem Power can be converted vise versa after one month of request. So, why do we bother with this? I know that's a concern.

The main thing is growing your account and reputation on the platform. As most of us started the journey from scratch, we have to put in extra dedication and commitment to grow and get highlighted in the platform. So, it's a great satisfaction to see the growth of our account. Once you reach the rhythm you will love it.

According to Steem Power, our influence in many areas increases. Top of the list is the increasing of voting power. Just look at the power in Sco1 or other curators. So, we can support quality content. In return, we can have a curation reward which also increases with our power. On the other hand, SP can be delegated to a specific community or an account as a team and have benefits as a team. And we can have a good impact on witness voting as well.

As I said, our STeem power is like a mirror that reflects our commitment and trust in the platform. So, it unlocks certain opportunities like, Steem/ country representatives, moderator or curator roles, etc.
