Greetings friends, how are you all? So, let’s begin today’s diary.
First of all, heartfelt wishes for Chhath Puja from me and the entire Bharatvarsh to all of you.
Six days after Diwali, this festival is celebrated mainly in the state of Bihar, but now Bihari people are present all over India and even abroad, so you will definitely see Chhath Puja being celebrated wherever there are ponds and rivers.
My Aunti
This puja is organized and it is believed that through this two-day waterless fast, mothers worship Chhath Maiya, who is considered to be the sixth form of Goddess Parvati, believed to bring growth and prosperity to children. That is why this fast holds great significance.
This tradition is not new; it has been mentioned in ancient tales. For example, in the Ramayana, when Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya, six days after Diwali, Lord Ram and Sita Maiya observed this fast.
You can also find its mention in the Mahabharata, where Surya Putra Karna offers prayers to the Sun God.
Therefore, this festival is celebrated with great fervor in our region. Unfortunately, I could not go home this time, but my family performed this fast at Triveni Sangam.
My mother made the special prasad for Chhath known as Thekua, and various kinds of fruits were also brought from the market, with the fast being observed for two days without even water.
To witness the rituals, I visited the ghat in Ahmedabad, where I took many pictures that I will treasure and preserve in this diary.
I will also share some photos from this year’s Chhath Puja that my family sent.
Today, I woke up early, finished my daily routine quickly, and got ready to go to the Chhath ghat. When I came upstairs, I saw my roommate still asleep. I told him to get ready quickly so that we could reach the ghat on time.
He got up fast and prepared himself. While he was getting ready, I spoke to my family, who were waiting for the sunrise at the Sangam ghat.
Shortly after, Ajay was ready. I informed my family that we were also going to the Chhath ghat and hung up.
We reached the ghat within 15 minutes and were amazed by the beautiful view. Special arrangements had been made for the puja. We stayed there, listened to Chhath songs, waited for the sunrise, performed the aarti, and after the sun rose, we received the prasad before returning home.
With that, today’s diary ends here. See you in the next diary entry.
Chhath pooja is really an adorable festival. As you have shared those Lovely pics, it looks your family is passionately celebrating this festival. Happy Chhath 🌄🪔✨ @deepak94
