INTRODUCTION
Hello Steemians, I'm happy to contest in this topic because I have an experience on both book knowledge and practical knowledge. Depending on which particular one a person has and applies, it can leave one stranded or be a solution. First of all, to me, knowledge is knowing something or having an idea of something. The idea could come naturally, through reading, through experience or through watching others. We are in the world of education where everyone is striving to achieve one thing or the other. People are trying to get knowledge to be useful in life. While some are gaining their knowledge from book, others are gaining from practice, while there is another set that gain from both, but all the same, all are necessary though one may supersede the other.
Difference between bookish knowledge and practical knowledge.
First of all, book knowledge is knowledge gotten from the reading of books or research, either to pass exams or to gain information to use and pursue a goal in life while practical knowledge is knowledge gotten through apprenticeship like skills, or by training on handwork.
• While book knowledge is gained strictly from books, practical knowledge is gained from tackling the everyday problems in life, it's gained from working with one's hands, making mistakes in the process and correcting it.
• With book knowledge, one only reads what is for his or her class or level with the intention of passing exams or using that knowledge for that period of time, and the knowledge gained can be forgotten after that period of time, but practical knowledge when learnt is for life. The knowledge stays with one and it might not be forgotten since it's used almost everyday.
• Book knowledge consumes time and money, because one needs money to buy books for every class and access to libraries and computers is also necessary but with practical knowledge, money may be paid once and the training begins, the person may even start applying the practical knowledge immediately and start earning.
• With book knowledge, mistakes made can easily be corrected example if one fails exams, the person can retake it again, but with practical knowledge, mistakes made can be disastrous example a doctor who injects wrongly can lead to the patient's death.
• Book knowledge doesn't prepare a person for the realities of life, it is limited to the 4 walls of a school while practical knowledge is meant for problem solving in life. It is useful for daily affairs in life. While only book knowledge without practical knowledge can make someone stranded in life, practical knowledge is kind of street smart, it makes ont think different ways of solving issues and with it, one can't be stranded.

Which knowledge (bookish knowledge and practical knowledge ) has more impact in our life?
The truth is we need both book knowledge and practical knowledge. With just book knowledge, we would be stranded in life especially when we leave the classroom and with just practical knowledge, we would be stranded because we won't be able to read simple instructions or solve simple mathematical problems. But I believe we need more practical knowledge than book knowledge, reasons being that life is full of problems and these problems need practical solutions, example if one wants to become an engineer in future, no matter how much the person reads and studies, the persin might not have practical knowledge unless he practices, he might not be able to wire a house jist by reading books. It was through practical knowledge that Thomas Edison finally succeeded in inventing a light bulb after he had failed so may times. Book knowledge only gives solutions while practical knowledge makes the solution work. This can be likened to a person who prays all the year round for a job but doesn't submit applications or go out to search for the work. The world needs practical knowledge since this is the knowledge that will tell us how to reduce hunger in the land, how to reduce the number of accidents on the road, how to stop a deadly disease from spreading etc, so practical knowledge has more impact in our lives.

What kind of knowledge does a person gain experience from?
A person gains experience from practical knowledge. In the past, people relied more on book knowledge. Our school system did us more harm than good because it limited us only to book knowledge, so on graduation, most became stranded on facing the realities of life because they were not ready for the issues of life. This is why students are given practical knowledge on different subjects right from the secondary school like chemistry, physics, biology while the art students are given practical knowledge on acting, painting etc. Imagine a student who studied medicine for 5 years in the university but had never carried out practice before, he may end up giving the wrong injection or prescribing the wrong drugs or even running away on his first assignment. This applies to every sector. A student who studied journalism but doesn't have practical knowledge on how to o about reporting a story would be stranded, a soldier who only has book knowledge would be killed in the war front on his first day.
Does practical knowledge bring us face to face with life experience? Express your views on this.
Practical knowledge brings people face-to-face with life experience. It exposes one to the realities of life. It shows that life is not bread and butter and it helps one to know how to solve problems in life. This is the reason some Spend years as an apprentice to learn a skill because these practical knowledge is what will help them solve issues. Imagine someone taking a car to the mechanic shop and the mechanic is busy flipping through a book to find solution to the car problem, he would be lost but with practical knowledge, he would have an idea on what to do in minutes. Practical knowledge makes one mastery over his or her field. A chef who only reads books will never have an experience but with everyday practice, the chef will get better. If he or she made a mistake today, he or she will know how to avoid that mistake tomorrow.

Practical knowledge, acquired through hands-on experience, is indispensable for navigating life's challenges and finding solutions. While book knowledge offers valuable insights, it's practical knowledge that equips us to tackle real-world problems effectively. From wiring a house to inventing groundbreaking technologies like the light bulb, practical knowledge drives innovation and progress, making it the cornerstone of impactful learning and life experiences.

When I was in college, I used to focus heavily on book knowledge. I thought acing exams was the only way to succeed. But then I realized I was lacking practical skills. Once, I was asked to solve a real-world problem during an internship, and I was completely lost. That’s when I understood the importance of practical knowledge. I also read a great article on the assignment writing service uk that discusses the role of assignments in bridging the gap between theory and practice. It helped me balance both aspects in my studies.
