What are the traditional outfits commonly worn in your country?

India has a rich and varied range of traditional dresses that reflect the cultural heritage and geographical location of our country.
Popular traditional dresses worn in India:

For Women:

Saree, Salwar Kameez, and Lehenga Choli.

Saree is one of the most popular Indian traditional dresses. Each region has its own special saree style like Banarasi, Kanjeevaram, Patola etc.

Lehenga Choli: It is an ornate dress usually worn on weddings and other special occasions. It consists of a long skirt, a blouse and a dupatta.

Salwar Kameez: It is a three-piece dress consisting of a salwar (pants), kameez (tunic) and dupatta. It is comfortable, versatile and is worn in a variety of styles.

For Men:

Dhoti, Kurta Pajama, Sherwani, Lungi and Pagdi.

Dhoti is a traditional dress that is wrapped around the waist. It is often worn with a kurta on religious occasions.

Kurta Pajama: It is a simple and comfortable outfit consisting of a long tunic (kurta) worn with loose-fitting pants.

Sherwani: It is like a long coat which is usually worn on weddings and other formal occasions.

Turban: It is worn on the head by men. It is an important traditional dress in many regions of India and has religious and cultural significance. This dress not only symbolizes elegance and style but also reflects the rich cultural heritage of India.

Are there any dress codes followed in schools, workplaces or religious places? Tell us about them.

Yes, in our country India, dress code is followed in schools and religious places in different places in different ways.

School: Most private and government schools have a dress code for students. This code is determined according to the school policy.
The purpose of the dress code is to maintain uniformity and discipline among the students. In some schools, wearing traditional clothes is also allowed on special occasions.

Religious places: Some temples have dress codes to be followed for entry such as men are asked to wear dhoti and women are asked to wear saree.
Some religious places prohibit short dresses and provocative clothes.

In your country, what type of dresses people wear on weddings, including the dresses of the bride and groom?

In our country India, the clothes worn to weddings vary greatly according to the region and culture.

Bridal clothes are saree or lehenga.

Saree: This is the most traditional option especially in Hindu weddings.
Popular sarees include Banarasi, Kanjeevaram, silk. The colors are usually red, golden or other auspicious colors.

Lehenga: This is another popular option especially in our northern India. Lehengas are often heavily embroidered and embellished. The colors and styles vary according to the personal choice of the bride.
In various different regions, brides wear their traditional dress such as Mekhela Chadar in Assam or Kasavu saree in Kerala.

Groom's clothes: Sherwani and suit.

Sherwani: This is a popular traditional choice for grooms. Sherwanis are often embroidered and embellished. They are worn with churidar pyjamas.
Suit: Grooms prefer to wear western style suits which include coat, shirt and pants.

What is your personal favorite traditional or modern outfit and why?

Traditionally I like to wear lehenga choli and gown and in modern outfit I like to wear midi and jeans top as it enhances my personality.
I like wearing these clothes very much and these clothes look great on my body shape. And these clothes make me feel very comfortable.

Hola amiga gracias por tu invitación, unas de las cosas que me agrada ver son los vestidos de mujeres tan hermosos que usan en tu país, sus estampados y calidez del color y para las bodas son preciosos.

Que bueno en tu país prohíben asistir con vestidos cortos o provocativos, se ve muy malo en mi país tampoco se usa.

Los trajes que usan los hombres en la India para casarse son muy llamativos y cómodos.

Todos los trajes y bisutería que ustedes usan en la vida normal siempre me han gustado, posiblemente en mi otra vida vivía en esa parte del mundo.
