Celebrating Grand Festivals: Share the Most Iconic Festival of Nigeria 🇳🇬.

The “Eyo Festival” commonly referred to as the “Adamu Orisha Play” is one of the behemoth festivals in my country Nigeria. One of the most colourful and vibrant festivals celebrated within the sub-region is held in Lagos, Nigeria and signifies a cultural welcoming oflf new Yam with is regarded as a cultural masterpiece highlighting the lifestyle and culture of Yoruba people.

The Eyo Festival is meant as a form of the celebration for a dead Oba, which is a traditional king or for any other distinguished personality in society. It is a very colorful celebration and acknowledged as one of the observances that make up Zamboanga City tourism and possibly one of the oldest if not the oldest events celebrated in this part of the country that started as early as 1800s.

Lovers wear beautiful white gowns and head gears made from horse hair, while dancing round the community with drummers, dancers, singers. This event preserves the cultural traditions by dancing and singing on the streets and showing how people of old days lived.

One of the great features of Eyo Festival is when the Eyo masqueraders dance nimbly on the streets in a coordinated way, while giving onlookers a fascinating performance to watch. It is also noted that the festival involved a number of attractive colorful umbrellas and fancy staffs that reacts to the greatness of the festival.

Apart from its artistic features, the Eyo Festival provides an important cultural value among the people of Lagos ; a festival of reunion, [endowment of tradition] and of life. It also implies that a community’s tradition provide it with identity which must be respected to the letter.

In conclusion, Eyo festival has remained one of Nigeria’s culturally well-prominent festival in which people of all classes to come together and contribute to a spectacular event in honor of my country Nigeria cultures and traditions.
