Hi Friends how are you all doing? Hope everyone is fit and fine. I am fine by the Grace of God.
I welcome you all to my today’s post.
Yesterday we had a wonderful day. We had a clear weather and also the whole city is decked up for Diwali. Lot of traffic during the day and evening. I started my day by having some corn soup in the morning and then got ready for work. Today we also had a great time as we had Diwali Celebrations at office 🎉. We all had to come to office in traditional outfits. We were all having a gala time.
all decked up for the celebration
We had some competitions for making rangoli -a popular Indian art form in which a pattern is made on the floor, commonly outside homes, usually with finely ground rice powder and colours. it's very common during Diwali. Since last night some of my colleagues were looking for a creative design so that our team would win the competition. She sent me some videos and photos of different different designs and styles. We were all very excited about it.
Our rangoli design
This morning when we reached office, we started discussing as to which design we will finally go with. I asked some of my male friends if they would join us in making the rangoli they started saying no, rangolis are only made by girls. I was like no that’s not true even guys can do that 😆. So then we started making the design at around 3:15 pm as the judging would start by 5:45. So all those who got free started joining us one by one. At first we struggled with making the design because it needed precision. It was kind of a geometric design. So we used a thread to act like a rounder and drew circles and some lines. We got it correct after some trial and errors.
Beautiful rangolis
Soon we figured that we needed some more colors, so my friend and I quickly went to the nearest shop and bought some extra colors. I reached back and quickly started filling the colors with my other teammates. Some of my colleagues even went and looked at other rangolis and told us that they all were beautiful. They were describing all their designes and their ideas. We were listening and we worked on making our rangoli the best.
Finally it was already evening time and it was time for the judges to go around and have a look at all our rangolis. We quickly wrapped up the design and gave some finishing touches to the design. At the end we lit up Diyas 🪔 all around the design. It looked marvellous at the end. We stood up and looked at it from the top and it looked amazing. We were all happy with the final output. Soon after we were done with the rangoli we moved to the area where we had our Diwali celebration. We started with bursting some crackers and having fun with each other. Then we had some snacks and we each received our Diwali gifts and sweets. Unfortunately, we were not the winners of the rangoli competition, but the best one won. 🏆
Some Diwali sweets
