Parents are really great assets. Being a parent or having parents mustn't be biological. There are foster parents, adopted parents, spiritual parents etc. For this contest, I'd like to focus on my biological parents, who have been a source of great strength and inspiration to me. They have made a great impact on me, and they have also stood out in their different endeavours. That's why I consider them as my heroes.

For giving birth to me, I must thank God for them. For those of us who are parents know that raising a child is a very tasking thing to do. For that, I must say thank you to my parents.

My parents have contributed so much to my life and I want to just highlight a few. My parents have contributed to my life in the following:

• Home training. For example, having to be kind, generous, humble and to be respectful.

• Giving me a good education is a great one that I'll always be for

• Giving me good advice that helped me to succeed in my endeavours. For example, they keep saying avoid trouble anywhere, anytime, saying, "The people you see while going up, you'll meet them on your way back." This proverb entails a lot: be very careful with people, be kind to people. They can be of help to you if not on your way going. It can be on your way back.

• They gave me a good upbringing and showered me with love.

Can we ever repay our parents? I doubt if we can repay them for all they have done for me, from my conception to birth and, then grooming till I became an adult.

All I'll say is that we owe our parents a lot of love and respect, we need to care for them no matter their status, looks and condition.

I am a parent. I'm trying my best to raise my children with my little strength and with the grace of God. I treat my children as the most important people in my life. I treat them with so much love and care. I take anything that pertains to them seriously, and I also provide them with everything within my reach.

For example, whenever they fall sick, I try as much as possible to take good care of them. For instance, I took my children to the hospital on Tuesday because my son in particular was sick so that he could get the required medical attention.

Being a parent is a great task, as our parents have contributed to our lives, making so much sacrifice in order to make us comfortable, we must try as much as possible to reciprocate the love back to them in times of need and especially in old age. Because by doing that, we are sowing a seed. Our children in return will love and care for us as we take care of our parents.
