The Diary game. A day out with the destitute rural populace helping them register their names for housing scheme

Greetings, dear friends, how are you all? I hope you all are fine and enjoying your day. I wish for you all good health, wealth and a prosperous time ahead. Today I am here to share with you yet another day of my life and I hope you all will get time to read and know about one more day of my life and also find it worthwhile to read and vote.

As the winter is going to end in just a few weeks from now, the nights have been long enough to make one complete his sleep. As I have a habit of rising early anyway, I today again woke up early, and then after performing ablution, went off for the morning prayers in the nearby mosque. The other people of the community had already gathered there, and it was time for offering the morning prayers when I arrived. I straightaway got into the line behind the Imam and offered the morning prayers. In this way, I start my day with peace and tranquillity and set a tone for my day ahead. After making supplications, I was able to achieve some positivity and was satisfied to put my matters in Allah’s hands to take care of.

Today again, I had to visit the village where I have been posted to make more registrations, and with every passing day, I can realize the state of the people in which they live and the miserable conditions they survive in. It’s always heart-touching and quite disheartening to see the condition of the people, and it gives me a feeling of being thankful to God every time for whatever I have in my life. As it has been rightly said, whenever you feel dissatisfied, bring someone into your mind who is actually below you, as looking at upper-class people would always make you dissatisfied. Looking at the condition of the people makes me satisfied with myself.

As for the rural areas, which are actually far-flung, a major portion of people live under very poor conditions, and they truly need help from the government. In this regard, we have been given the responsibility of registering more and more beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which is actually intended as a housing scheme to provide safe and sound shelter to poor people who cannot afford to build their own houses. It’s a major step towards the Gandhian socialism ideology in India, as it actually helps people realize their dream of living in a safe shelter.

Today, I went on registering a good number of beneficiaries—around eight—in the village, and fortunately for me, the portal ran smoothly. I was able to make good progress compared to earlier when the portal was not that smooth and was actually in a beta stage, requiring several improvements. Eventually, these improvements were made, and now the portal is quite smooth to work on.

The portal also requires us to capture photographs of both the old house and the new proposed site for constructing the house by the beneficiary. For this, I need to cover a lot of distance throughout the day, as the old and new sites do not coincide in most cases. It becomes quite exhausting, as the conditions are not suitable for walking these days—the winter frost has turned the roads slippery, and the mud in open areas has become quite a nuisance.

Later in the day, I returned home with aching legs, and upon reaching home, I freshened up. After having some warm tea, I took a nap to refresh myself. It’s quite satisfying to help poor people with something they could have done themselves, as the portal is open in the public domain and anyone can register. However, considering the illiteracy of the people, I prefer helping them to minimize any mistakes that later cannot be rectified. Anyways, it gives me satisfaction, and I am content with whatever work I do for these people.

Later in the day, I dedicated some of my time to reading a few chapters of Indian polity before having dinner at about 9:30 PM. After that, I went through social media for a while and then retired to sleep at 11:30 PM.

It was all about my day.Thank you for going through my post. Have a great time ahead.
