🦠What is infection? 🤔

When harmful microorganisms like viruses, bacteria, fungi etc. enters our body and start growing inside, it is called infection. Infection can cause fever and other health implications and it can begin anywhere inside the body. There are several diseases which are spread through infection some of which are mentioned below:-

Chickenpox
Chickengunya
Dengue
HIV AIDS
Ebola
Hepatitis
Common Cold
Flu
Ringworm

🤕My struggle with Ringworm- A fungal infection 🤒

It was the year of 2014 when our area was affected with flood. The water was everywhere and it got removed by a couple of months. The water was gone but it left people with many diseases in our area. One of the most disturbing problems was fungal infection. My younger brother got infected by fungus and the ringworms were spreading in his body.

After a few days I also got caught with this disease as we lived together in a family. My brother was already taking medicines for this. I couldn't sleep at night due to itching. I used many types of medicine whether it is Allopathic or Homoeopathic but none could resolve the problem. I had tried to get rid of this problem through help local medical stores but it continued to spread.

💊 Course of Medication & Recovery💪

After a year I came to know about Dr. Balram Pandey, a skin disease specialist and gold medalist in dermatology from Banaras Hindu University. When I visited his clinic, I saw a crowd there. A large number of people were affected from this disease. When I met him he asked me how many persons in your family are affected by this problem. I told him that My brother and I were affected. He prescribed medicines for both of us. He advised me not to share bed and clothes with anyone in the house. His medicines were powerful and costly too. My medicines costed me 1500/- INR for 10 days only.

when I visited him 2nd time I had to pay lesser than earlier. Medication showed it's effect on my body and it started recovering. I was feeling well now. The doctor had advised me to take medicines for at least 3 months but when I started taking medicines my problem was finished within a week. Still I took medicine for a month but after that I became careless about taking medicines as I thought I am free of infection now. But the problem persisted and infection came back.

☣️Precautions to avoid infection ⚠️

The precautions which must be ensured during infection -

Isolation from other persons.
Focus on hygiene i.e. regular handwash
Stop using common towel or any clothes.
Avoid physical contact with others.
Use clean clothes daily
Abide by the prescription given by the doctor.

How to prevent infection from spreading

So these are some precautions which should be followed. It was my personal experience that when you forget the doctor's advice, the problem starts getting worsen. I also became careless about medication when problem became moderate and resulted in bouncing back of the fungal infection. After that I started taking medicines regularly and followed every advice given by the doctor. Finally I got rid of the problem after 4 years of struggle.

International Infection Prevention Week is celebrated in the 3rd week of the month of October every year to make the people aware about various types of infections. So that people could stay away from infectious diseases as "Prevention is better than cure." 😷
