Hello Steemians,
I'm happy to join in this contest today which is the power-up contest organized weekly in this noble community. It is a contest that encourages us to power up our Steem and grow our account via this process.

I love this contest because it has helped me to grow by constantly powering up the Steem I earn weekly. To fully participate in the contest today, I would love to answer the questions that are given below.

The amount of steems from your wallet must be used to perform a power-up.

From my Steemit wallet I have at the moment 23.899 Steem and based on this contest today, I will be powering up all the Steem. Based on low support I don't get much Steem weekly but I still feel it's important to join this contest today.

From the screenshot above, you can see the wallet with the amount of Steem and Steem power I had before the power-up was initiated. So in the question below, I will share the basic steps I used to do that.

Let's go straight into the process of the power-up. I will also join in doing all of the contests every week.

You must submit a thorough, screenshotted description of how you did it in order to be eligible.

Step 1: Log in to your Steemit wallet and then be sure that your wallet is showing a drop-down as in the screenshot above.

Step 2: Click on the drop-down button beside the Steem and then select Power Up as seen in the screenshot below

Step 3: Enter the amount of the Steem you wish to power up and then click on the power as seen in the screenshot below

Step 4: Confirm the transfer and then click on OK as seen from the screenshot below.

Step 5: Check back in your wallet and be certain that the Steem has been transferred to the Steem Power, you can see the addition in the screenshot below.

Write the importance of performing powerup.

There are many importance of powering up Steem and here I will be discussing a few of the importance of powering up.

Every Steemian who powered up can grow his Steem Power thereby earning a curation reward whenever I vote on articles. As we can see, when someone with a higher Steem Power votes on your post, you will earn a better reward and the person will also earn a good curation reward.

So in essence, the main reason or importance for building our Steem power is to enable us to vote and earn curation rewards i.e. supporting others and also earning from it. We all need rewards and that is the main reason for powering up.
