Assalamualaikum all of my friends. How are you all? I hope you all are well. I am also fine. Today I participate in the weekly food diary game contest organized by @jyoti-thelight mam. I thank @jyoti-thelight ma'am for organizing us this wonderful and different contest every week. So I am participating in today's food diary game contest with my food list for all days of December 17, 2024 to participate in today's contest.
This month is called the sweet month because of the current winter season in Bangladesh. Because in the winter, the festival of pita making starts in every house in Bangladesh. Similarly, that day I wake up in the morning to find that my favorite steamed pitha is prepared at my house. I have several favorite pithas, one of which is Vapapitha, and I had already made it a point in my house to make any one of my favorite pithas for breakfast. It felt good to eat hot steamed pita on a winter morning.
The main ingredients of Vapa Pitha are rice flour, date jaggery and coconut which is ready to eat when it is placed in a pan and steamed in hot water. This steamed pitha is very favorite food of almost every people of Bangladesh.
At noon I take a bath with hot water as usual, change my clothes and prepare for lunch. I see that for lunch that day was cooked Dumba meat which I had only once before in my life. To be honest I was quite surprised to see this as Dumba meat is not commonly available. But my father-in-law collected this meat from far away to feed us. I was more than happy to see this rare dish on the lunch menu and quickly sat down at the dining table to eat rice with dumba meat.
Truth be told Dumbar meat is very tasty to eat and I ate my lunch with great satisfaction as after long time I am eating rice with this Dumbar meat. Moreover, Dumba is a sacred animal and eating its meat is completely halal, so I was more interested in eating its meat.
After lunch I rested and then woke up in the afternoon to find chitai pitha being made at home. Originally, this pitha was being made with a new type of rice powder, for which it was already understood that the taste of chitai pitha would be better in many parts. Basically this pitha is increased by soaking in date juice. This is a winter pitha and the taste of this pitha is very delicious. Then I freshened up and went to the kitchen and from there some soaked chitai pitha were given to me.
As I said earlier the month of winter is the month of honey and during this time every Bengali prepares a variety of delicious pithas made of fresh rice flour at home. So I had a date juice pita to satisfy my afternoon cravings.
For dinner I had a different plan with my wife and that was we would have dinner out or at a restaurant. Then I went to a little restaurant near my in-laws house with my wife and ordered our dinner. Although I had eaten at this restaurant once before and I liked the food so much that I went back to this restaurant for the second time.
Sometimes we go to a restaurant for dinner and our favorites are naan roti and chicken. So that day too we had dinner with naan bread and chicken. Although all these fried foods are bad for our health but still the food tastes good so we had dinner from the restaurant.
I invite my dear Steemian friends : @shiftitamanna, @enamul17, @drhira, @max-pro, @lirvic, @tusher63
