Assalamualaikum all of my friends. How are you all? I hope you all are well. I am also fine. Today I have appeared before you with my new travel blog and today I left Dhaka for my village home Khulna after a long time. So I am presenting to you now my travel experience and beautiful moments of this journey.
As we will leave for Khulna in the morning, wake up on time in the morning and get fresh. After having a light breakfast I prepared to leave for Khulna. So me and my younger sister packed our bags and then said goodbye to my relatives and left the house. It was foggy that day and it was 9 am when we left home. By now the sun was supposed to be shining but it was a bit dark all around due to fog and clouds.
Through thick fog and cloudy surroundings we set off for Dhaka bus counter to reach our destination. In this case we hire a rickshaw. We were going by rickshaw from Motijheel to Gulistan bus counter and in this case the rickshaw fare was Bangladeshi 70 Taka or 2 Steem.
Although the road from Motijheel to Gulistan is not far but still sometimes I could see several jams on the road. These jams are very common in the streets of the capital city of Dhaka because every morning people go out for whatever they need. As this area is densely populated, there is a lot of traffic and therefore the number of vehicles is constantly jammed on the roads.
After being stuck in the jam for about 20 minutes the traffic police cleared our way and then we started again towards Gulistan. I was noticing one thing while going to Gulistan bus counter and that is our rickshaw driver brother was feeling a lot of pain in severe cold because it has been severe cold in Bangladesh for the past few days due to which people going out of their houses and moving around is getting a lot of problems.
Anyway after getting out of the jam we move forward along the empty road. Although our rickshaw driver brother was going to Gulistan by taking a long road. But there is another easy road to go to Gulistan, but our rickshaw was going through another road because there would be a lot of jam on the road on Friday. We move forward to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Dhaka city in the winter morning.
After some time passed our rickshaw reached Gulistan and then I asked the rickshaw driver to go to BRTC bus depot in Gulistan as from there I will get various buses to my Khulna. Then the rickshaw driver took me to the ticket counter under a flyover as I said and then we got down from the rickshaw and told the rickshaw driver the fare.
After getting off the rickshaw, I went directly to the ticket counter and from there collected a ticket for Khulna bound Tungipara Express non AC bus which cost Bangladeshi 650 Taka or 17.56 Steem. When I reached the ticket counter it was 10:16 AM and our bus left the ticket counter for Khulna at 10:45 AM for which I and my younger sister waited at the ticket counter for quite some time.
After waiting for about 30 minutes our bus arrived at the ticket counter and then I boarded the Tungipara Express Non AC bus bound for Khulna along with other passengers. Before boarding the bus I checked all my belongings and then boarded the bus. Boarding the bus we waited there for quite some time as there was a lot of jam on the road so the bus could not move forward. Within 10 minutes the road jam eased a bit and then our bus started for Khulna.
As I was returning home to the village after a long time I was quite happy and during the journey I was enjoying the foggy environment quite well. Since it is winter time now, I have refrained from traveling in AC buses. We kept all the windows of our bus closed during the journey as the cold air outside made us shiver. Even after passing many roads, I could not see the sunlight and the surroundings were shrouded in fog.
After about an hour of our journey we reached the Padma river bridge and it is a new bridge which was completed only two years ago. Padma River is one of the fastest flowing rivers in Bangladesh and building a bridge over this river was a very difficult task for which skilled engineers from different countries were built. Vehicles like buses and trucks ply over the Padma Bridge and trains ply under it, which shows how strong this bridge is. But when our bus boarded the Padma River, we could not enjoy any view of the Padma River as the surroundings were shrouded in thick fog which was a bit disturbing. Moreover, it is quite dangerous to drive on the road so our bus driver was driving very carefully.
The driver crossed the Padma Bridge after driving our car for about ten minutes and then started driving normally. As the weather outside was quite cold and foggy, every moment of our journey was quite risky. However, at several places on the road, the fog was less and the road was visible for a long distance, so our car driver was moving ahead at a very fast pace. After about an hour's journey after crossing the Padma Bridge, our car driver stopped the car at an oil pump and gave all our passengers a break for 20 minutes. Then we got down from the car and freshened up from the oil pump washroom and went to the fuel pump shops to buy some food.
As it was a Friday, our car had a 20 minute halt here. However, at other times these vehicles leave only a 10-minute break. But the train stopped for 20 minutes to facilitate the passengers to pray as it was noon by then. Many Muslims gathered in a small mosque at the oil pump to offer the holy Jumma prayers. So we freshened up at the shop, had a light breakfast and bought some food and got into the bus.
After some 20 minutes had passed, a microphone at the fuel pump told the passengers of our vehicle to take their respective seats as our vehicle would resume its journey to Khulna shortly. I and my younger sister were already sitting in the car, we were sitting inside the car and we saw other passengers of the car had already got in the car and after some time our car left for Khulna again.
Within moments of our bus re-starting for Khulna, I felt sleepy and fell asleep on my seat for some time. I was sleeping on the bus seat for more than an hour and then my younger sister called me and I saw that our bus had already entered Khulna district. I was feeling so happy that I started enjoying the scenery outside the window. By 3pm our bus reached our destination and then I took out the two small tokens I had with me which identified the bags we were carrying. This is a security system that every bus has to protect your belongings during the journey. Anyway I showed the bus driver the token for the two bags we had and took our bags off the bus.
Even after reaching Khulna from Dhaka, I find the environment here quite cold which is quite normal as the winter season of Bangladesh has already arrived. But one thing surprised me and that is we have not seen sunlight here yet and the environment is foggy. However, by 3:30 PM we reached our home after a long journey of four and a half hours.
