Good morning my steemitainer friends,I’m here back again to contest in this competition of creative writing ✍️ and am greatly interested to compete with which was organized by @senehasa in the @Hindwhale community.
Pick a word ,paint a story “JOURNEY”
In the small, vibrant neighborhood where my childhood began(Namawojjolo village) ,the world felt like an endless horizon of possibilities. The days were a kaleidoscope of colors, sounds, and laughter, each moment a stepping stone toward the person I’m destined to become.As a child, curiosity was a compass. Whether it my best joy of my childhood,I’m a Mugishu by tribe and we mostly come from the parts of eastern Uganda (mountain Elgon) and we practice the imbalu ceremony a communal activity done by my tribe and it’s a prime example of how the Bugishu celebrate milestones collectively where families, friends, and neighbors contribute resources and time to ensure the success of such events. This spirit of shared effort is not limited to circumcision but extends to other ceremonies like marriages, funerals, and harvest festivals.and the photo below shows me doing the imbalu dance
From there ,I went to join a secondary schoool where I achieved my UCE,UNCE and my degree at Makerere University ;School became my first real proving ground
Those early years were not always easy, filled with lessons that extended beyond 📚,I learned the value of friendship in the schoolyard, the sting ofdisappointment in a failed test, and the thrill of achievement when you finally excelled in a subject you loved. These experiences planted the seeds of resilience and ambition in me and then adolescence arrived with its mix of turbulence and self-discovery. The mirror became a frequent confidant, reflecting not just my changing appearance but also the storm of emotions within me.
I wrestled with insecurities and navigated the complexities of growing up, often questioning where I’m fit in the grand scheme of things. But this period also brought a new level of determination that I began to dream bigger, setting goals that felt both thrilling and daunting.
High school and college marked the phase where my dreams started to take shape. My passions crystallized as I explored interests that ignited my soul. It was during this time that I faced my first real challenges— be it academic, emotional, or personal. Each obstacle was a lesson, shaping your & acter and sharpening everything and from there I joined campus where I achieved a second grade upper degree at the biggest and most famous university “Makerere University “ in Accounting and Finance and then real life started of looking for a job and survive and have worked with so many fields like marketing, finance,data entrant ,sales personnel and many more .
Love entered my story like a melody, first tentative and then all-encompassing,meeting Sumaya added a new dimension to my journey, teaching me the beauty of connection and shared dreams. Together, you envisioned a future, each day a step toward building something meaningful,and now standing on the firm ground of adulthood, i look back and see a path paved with curiosity, determination, and love.
