Steemit Engagement Challenge S6/W2 - What steps would you take to save the soil?

All living things on this earth depend on the land. Protecting the land is our duty. It is not the job of the government, village heads, state authorities, or cleaning staff. We are all responsible for saving the land. Fertile soil will provide a better life.

Soil is a producer of clean water. Soil is a medium for healthy living through its green plants. We need to know that we need it to survive. Without fertile and well-maintained soil, we will never be able to live there. Imagine if your entire area turns arid, how much unemployment and poverty will be created.

However, in reality, there are still many who do not realize the importance of land for life. Through this article, I want to share knowledge about procedures for maintaining soil integrity by carrying out reforestation.

Doing afforestation and replanting is a solution to protect the soil

Reforestation can prevent erosion and increase soil fertility. Besides being useful for that, greening is also one of the efforts to create fresh air and become a barrier to depleting ozone.

I have a small garden behind the house. In that garden, I grow various young plants. And all these plants are free from fertilizers and other chemicals. To increase its fertility, I only water it using water used for washing rice.

To take care of the land, we just need to realize that land is life. In the ground, there is water as a source of life. If the soil is damaged, the water is also damaged. Soil is an excellent filter for clean water.

Every tree cut down has the right to a replacement. I always do that too. Even though the plants are young, I always replant or do seedlings by taking some stems and planting them elsewhere.

I also often clean the plants so they thrive. I do not use chemical fertilizers or other drugs. It will only be useful for a moment and leave substances that are not good for the soil for a long time.

Conclusion

Soil damage has occurred everywhere, there is no other solution but to cultivate awareness that land is a source of life. We need to make efforts to preserve the soil. Soil quality that is maintained will provide benefits for living things and the environment. One way to protect the soil is to do greenery.
