Assalamu alikum
I am @nasir04
From #bangladesh 🇧🇩
How are you all Hope you are all well by the grace of Almighty Allah. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Almighty Allah and your prayers, I am also very well. Today I have appeared in the Hindwhale community to participate in the ongoing "Contest| One Nation One Voting | Important of voting in your country" contest. At the beginning of the contest, I would like to thank @deepak94 sir for giving us the opportunity to participate in such a beautiful contest.
The total number of countries in the world recognized by the United Nations is 195. However, out of these 195 recognized countries, only 120 or slightly more countries govern their countries in a democratic way. Due to geographical distance and being located in different parts of the world, the laws of all countries are not the same. However, even in countries that do not have democracy, there are some laws created by them to maintain the rights of the citizens of the country.
Our Bangladesh is one of the 120 countries in the world that lead the country on a democratic path. Bangladesh also governs the country through voting according to their parliamentary laws. Our country follows some common systems for voting like other democratic countries. A person must be at least 18 years of age or above to vote.A person is not selected to vote only if he is 18 years old. A person must have NID (National Identity Card) to vote. Because without a national identity card, a person is not considered a citizen of a country. And a person who is not a citizen of the country, should not be able to vote under any circumstances.
In order to vote, all the citizens of our country with national identity cards have to go to the selected polling stations in their respective areas on boat days. There they have to collect a token according to their name and national identity card and then enter the voting room with it and NID card. The voting ballot paper contains the symbols of all the candidates participating in the election. We implement the voting system by giving valuable votes to any symbol of our choice.
Several types of elections are organized in our country. These elections are distinguished on the basis of their importance and significance. There are mainly three elections, they are:
National elections.
District elections.
Regional elections.
National Elections:- |
---|
National elections are held every five years. Where all the parties or parties of our country join. Before the national elections the current government of our country steps down and hands over the power to the caretaker government for three months. National elections were held under the leadership of this caretaker government. Before the elections, they promised the people to do various developmental works. People vote for the party they support according to their choice.
District Election:- |
---|
Various politicians and social workers participate in district elections in all regions of 64 districts of our country. They also shared with the people of the district various developmental works and various plans to present the district as a role model before the elections.
Regional selection:- |
---|
Regional elections are mainly held in small areas. However, regional elections are also of several types. They are:
Election of upazila chairman.
Election of Union Chairman.
Election of Union Vice Chairman.
Election of ward members.
Word Member Selection:- |
---|
- Each ward is formed with small and big villages. This election is organized to elect a representative in that ward. A ward member works for the development of only certain areas.
Election of Union Chairman and Vice Chairman |
---|
- Several wards join together to form a union. A chairman and a vice chairman are elected to carry out all the development work of a union. The chairman has a little more power and importance than the vice chairman.
Upzilla Chairman Election:- |
---|
- A few unions are united to form an upazila. In upazila elections, a representative is selected. Who does developmental work in the whole upazila.
•Also from time to time various by-elections are organized in our country as per need. When an elected representative dies or resigns due to any reason. Then these by-elections are organized to fill that place.
I invite @kuhinoor @rajusam @asifhasan to this competition. Here is the contest link.
