How are you all I hope everyone is fine.Today I'm here to participate in contest arranged in hindwhale community by @deepak94. Today topic is related to Labour Day.
Labour day is a time to celebrate the contribution of workers and to advocate for their rights. Every year on the 1st May people around the world celebrate International Labour Day. Its a day dedicated to honoring the hard work and contributions of workers everywhere.
Labour day also know as International Workers Day is a day to recognize and appreciate the efforts of workers in all fields. It's a time to reflect on the rights and conditions of workers and to advocate for fair treatment and better working conditions.
Workers Rights Advocacy |
---|
Worker rights advocacy is about making work fair and safe for everyone. Advocates fight for fair pay safe place to work, reasonable hours and benefits like healthcare. They also work to stop unfair treatment and make sure everyone has an equal chance to do well. Advocacy means speaking up for worker organizing protests and asking for better law to protect them. It all about making sure that every worker feels valued respect and has opportunity to do their best.
It also mean making sure people aren't treating badly because of who they are and giving workers the right to join together and talk to bosses about things like pay and conditions.
Gender Equality in the Workplace |
---|
Gender equality is still a big problem at work everywhere. Even though we've made some progress, there are persistent disparity in pay representation, opportunity and treatment based on gender. Women continue to earn less than men on average for the same work or work of equal value. It's not fair to judge women base on how they look instead of how good they are at their job. Hiring someone just because they look good is not right and it hurts not only women but also our whole society
Workplace Mental Health |
---|
Labour Day in Pakistan is more symbolic than practical as the majority of laborers continue working on that day. Having a day off is not something they necesarily look forward to because many laborers are daily wage earner and take a day off mean they won't earn any money. Additionally if they don't work they won't be able to earn money to buy food for their families. So, while Labour Day is meant to celebrate and honor the contributions of worker for many laborers in Pakistan it just another day of trying to make ends meet.
