Story behind the design of your national flag.
There is an intriguing history behind the creation of the Tiranga, the national flag of India. A liberation fighter and geologist named Pingali Venkayya invented it in 1921. The INC adopted the flag at its convention in Karachi in 1931., nd it quickly came to symbolise the nation's struggle for independence.
The flag has three horizontal stripes that are of the same width nd are coloured saffron at the top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom.. Saffron stands for bravery and selflessness, white represents innocence and truth, and green denotes faith and prosperity. Each colour also has a specific meaning. The Ashoka Chakra, which symbolises the wheel of law and has 24 navy blue spokes, is located in the middle of the white stripe.
The flag's design has changed a little throughout time, which is interesting. Instead of a saffron or Ashoka Chakra in the centre, the original flag had a red or spinning wheel. The Ashoka Chakra was introduced in 1931 in place of the spinning wheel, and the top of the flag was painted saffron. The width to length ratio of the flag was then modified from 2:3 to 3:5 after India attained independence in 1947.
The Indian national flag has stood as a testament to the nation's independence, cohesion, and integrity for a very long time. It is handled with the utmost care and dignity as a sacred emblem. To remind Indians of their rich history and complex cultural heritage, the flag is flown from public buildings and raised on major days.
What was the meaning of the symbols that use in your country's flag?
The Indian national flag's colours & symbols each hve a deep meaning and capture the spirit of the Indian people:
The saffron hue at the top of the flag symbolises bravery, sacrifice,, nd selflessness. It stands for the Indian people's ethos of selflessness and renunciation.
The central stripe's white hue stands for harmony, innocence, and honesty. It also stands for the Indian people's objectivity, sincerity, and integrity.
The bottom of the flag's green colour stands for abundance, growth, and good fortune. It also stands for the Indians' religion, procreation, and valour.
The wheel of law is symbolised by the 24 spoked, navy blue Ashoka Chakra that sits in the middle of the white stripe. It stands for the Indian people's righteousness, dynamism, and progressivism.
Nevetheless, the Indian national flag is a stunning & potent representation of India's rich cultural past, it's struggle for freedom, nd its diverse and lively population. Indians all across the world look to it as a source of inspiration and pride.
