Hello everyone,
It's your favourite Steemian @rakiya from Nigeria and I'm delighted to join in this contest organized by @jyoti-thelight in this noble community today. It's a wonderful contest and I love to share my participation in it.

Power Up and Win contest is indeed a wonderful contest initiative which will help Steemians to grow more in the platform. I'm so happy to join this week's contest and I hope I win as well.

Below I will share with you all the step-by-step procedures which I used to power up 61.073 Steem. This step will serve as a guide to those who have no idea about how this is been done.

So without further time wasted, let's go straight into the procedure as I numbered it one after the other below.

Basic Steps to power up your Steem

• Login to your wallet address with your private or active key 🔑 before you will be allowed to initiate any transaction.

• Be certain that your wallet is in the format of the screenshot below

• Click on the drop-down menu close to the available Steem in your wallet and select the power-up option as you can see from the screenshot below

• Enter the amount of Steem you wish to power up and then click on the power-up button ◼️ as seen in the below screenshot.

• Confirm your transfer to vesting by clicking on the Ok 🆗 button as seen from the screenshot below.

• Go back to your wallet and then check to be sure that the Steem you have converted from Steem to Steem power has been added as seen in the screenshot below.

Write the importance of performing powerup.

Seeing a contest that is organized for the sake of power-up means that power-up is very important to all Steemians. Also, the club status program that allows people to withdraw either 25% or 50% of their earnings means that Steemit also encourages power-up.

Power up in my little understanding is important because it helps you save some Steem. Also, if someone has access to your account, they can't be able to withdraw your funds immediately because it takes four weeks to convert it back to Steem for withdrawal.

So this is very important as you don't get to lose your funds. Also, you will earn a curation reward when you vote and support other Steemians. So the higher your SP the higher your curation reward.

So this is the main importance of powering up Steem in my little understanding. I hope I'm able to explain to the understanding of those reading this post today.
